Vanqy Posted February 8 Posted February 8 problem: after starting the game and entering a galaxy, the frametimes look like this: after leaving the games focus, for example for checking a discord message, navigating on youtube or just writing this bug report, returning to the game, the frametimes look like this: this problem can be reproduced and happens many times during a play session every day, restarting the game is the only fix. on average, i restart 1-3 times per hour. just going to main menu and back into the galaxy does not work. it happens both on singleplayer and multiplayer. my specs: Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 Build 26100.2894; 5900x 32GB RAM; 5700xt 8GB VRAM; AMD Adrenalin Pro 24.Q4 possible cause: >>> OpenGL <<< im eager to get help and provide more information if necessary. i am also willing to run a frametime analysis tool, if it even exists for OpenGL clientlog 2025-02-08 05-01-54.txt serverlog 2025-02-08 05-07-05.txt
Boxelware Team Rymaca Posted February 11 Boxelware Team Posted February 11 Firstly, it would be good if you could generate a profiling file before and after the performance drops with F10 and send it to me. The file path to this file will be displayed in the game chat when the file is generated.
Boxelware Team Rymaca Posted February 17 Boxelware Team Posted February 17 Thanks! It looks like you are on AMD driver version 24.10, does the issue persist with driver version 24.12?
Vanqy Posted February 17 Author Posted February 17 i just checked my AMD Software, there is no update available, see image:
Boxelware Team Rymaca Posted February 26 Boxelware Team Posted February 26 You are currently using the Pro driver. Try installing the Adrenalin driver. It is possible that this has to be done manually (e.g. you can download the drivers here: https://www.amd.com/de/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-5000-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt.html ).
Vanqy Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 (edited) thanks for your reply. I am intentionally using the Pro driver for its better stability and less invasive game "optimizations". When the issue started appearing, I was on the Adrenalin driver back then. However, if it is required for testing purposes or if the driver version you mentioned contains a bug fix that affects Avorion, i could DDU and swap to the Adrenalin Edition. Vanqy Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 (edited) to avoid further delay, i went ahead and DDU'ed to Adrenalin. I'll put two different states of my machine into the attachment. Meanwhile im going to try to trigger the frametime degradation on a fresh galaxy, which seems to be much harder to reproduce.
