  1. I think these suggestions are both excellent and would add a lot of usability and intiutiveness to the game.
  2. Fighters will need to be faster and more mobile than any other ship in order to be viable designs. I really hope and look forward to designing Starfuries that will zip around enemy ships with maneuvers that make them nearly impossible to hit.
  3. Mostly I want to turn my mining pod into the one from Guardians of the Galaxy... I'd like to modify all of our drones, actually. Differentiate fighter drones from true (customizable) fighters that were talked about in another thread, differentiate our miner drones from our repair drones, etc.
  4. I actually think finding colors as loot is horrible in this game. It can work well in a different type of game, like an MMO. But it makes no sense whatsoever, either in-universe or game-mechanically, in a game like this. Since when did you have to loot a paint chip to be able to paint anything that color? Please implement some kind of direct color chooser rather than stratified color swatches that are treated like items.
  5. Personally I'd be totally fine if the customization was purely cosmetic.
  6. I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I can't find it. I'd love to be able to have the option to customize your starter drone using the ship builder.
  7. The current paint color chooser menu is severely limited. Could we possibly get a hex color chooser for painting our ships? Or even, to be really fancy, an HSB/RGB color wheel, something like this?
  8. It would be nice if we could get an anthropomorphic scale to judge our ships against. How hard would it be to build a little Lego spaceman out of blocks, to show us how big people are in Avorion's scaling, and save that as a prefab object to allow us to import and compare against our ships?
  9. Hi everyone! Lathrix brought me here. Well technically I guess From the Depths brought me here, since From the Depths brought me to Lathrix. I'm super-excited about this game. I've tried out Starmade but it's just not enough of what I'm looking for. But when I saw the build mode of this game and that you could RESIZE AND RESCALE BLOCKS, I just about passed out from disbelief. I knew I had to have it. Oh ladies and gentlemen, the ships we will build.
  10. I'd really like to see an answer on this from the dev team. Better yet, I'd like to see a way to edit them directly from the game menu.
  11. I too have wondered if it's possible for the procedural generation to use other shapes besides cuboids. Being able to set a few parameters that would handle symmetry, other shapes, and perhaps weighting the distribution of blocks towards a particular plane or axis, would go a long way to avoiding the universally asymmetrical piles and rods of slightly different bricks we get exclusively.
  12. Yes PLEASE. I imagine the current control scheme was implemented to try and reach a nice medium between intuitive "arcade" style movement and Newtonian physics, since Newtonian physics are inherently unintuitive. However I don't find Newtonian physics confusing at all (maybe I've just read, watched, and played too much science fiction), and the current control scheme is much more confusing than using thrust and counter-thrust. If we could turn on the option for fully Newtonian control I'd find it much much easier to avoid running into things.
  13. I really hope we get animation blocks like this. You know that someone (namely me) itching to create an Omega destroyer or Earth Force One from Babylon 5, and you can't do that without at least having a spin block.
  14. Sweet, thank you! I thought it was awfully strange that such an incredible, flexible designer stuck you with an unalterable starting block. Hence, I rescind my suggestion.
  15. I very much agree with this, the way thrusters currently work is highly unintuitive. The current omni-thrust block is pretty ugly and far too weak; I feel that having one thruster type and needing to place it directionally is much more intuitive, as well as giving you the opportunity to manually tweak the performance profile of your ship.
  16. I love that you can change the material of the ship's starting block, but would it be possible to allow us to resize it as well? One of the first things I tried to do was make my starting block thin and wide, but it stubbornly refuses to be anything but that slightly ginormous cube. What is it, 400 tons of mass I think (at least when it's iron)? It's pretty large, and it would be nice if you wanted to just make a zippy little tramp freighter or gunship if you could shrink and stretch it.
