  1. added your scripts to our server and made some minor changes: removed some debugging messages, added some new ones like print(" difficulty=" .. difficulty .. " scale=" .. scale .. " count=" .. count)

Using this as part of eventscheduler.lua and it's nice to be able to tweak everything (on the fly!) for more advanced players seeking more challenge.

All seems to be working well!

Looking forward to what you come up with next

  2. Loving the server. By chance would something like https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1032.0.html be doable?  Would help a lot for salvaging.

I have looked at this before. I am open to it but before I throw it on the server I need to put it on my test server to make sure things work first. I would hate to throw it on the server and then things mess up and have to restart everyone.

Just want to point out that it's a one way change.  If you take it out later you'll likely have to start a new galaxy.

Other than that, it's a nice mod :)

  3. On my explanation, it's about BUILDING PHASES and controlling final stats. OFC you can keep on increasing your rotation speeds... But you can't fine tune it easily if each block alters multiple stats, that's why I offered a gradual approach based on how easily is to "lock" certain maneuverability stats. If you play the game on x1 collision damage... The last thing you want is a 1MT elongated ship rotating at 1rad/s... Meanwhile that same ship is interesting to have at least between 1/4 - 1/6 "lateral thrust" on the smaller axis seen when you are are showing your high weapon density facing to the enemy... And even if it's a civ, you should never let lateral acceleration fall below 1/10 forward thrust if you want to control drift decently at docking maneuvers or while avoiding obstacles.

How do you tell what your lateral thrust is?

Rotation is nice and all, but lateral thrust (or lack thereof) is the thing that makes ships "feel" out of control... for me.

  4. built a ship of iron hull blocks.  completed it had 7 system upgrade slots.

started transforming some outside plates from hull to titanium armor and lost a system upgrade slot down to 6.

So took a big block of armor and slapped it on the side randomly and the 7th upgrade slot returned.

continued to convert remaining iron hull blocks to titanium armor... and it lost the 7th slot again.

This whole time it never changed volume.

Is this a bug or is it unclear how volume impacts system upgrade slots?
