  2. Applying plan with different materials: 1. Hold space (or press big + on bottom row) 2- Upper right corner is "template material" - pick your desired material. 3. Select blocks to be rescaled and inserted 4. Ctrl+C 5. Open build menu (as in 1) 6. Bottom part of build menu is templates 7. Pick one template slot and CTRL+V 8. Pick your inserted template, now it is made of your previously selected material 9. Rescale as usual block 10. Hold left alt, and choose a side of block, which you want your selection to snap by 11. Apply 12. ?? 13. Profit! 7. Profit

  4. I recommend doing decals from holograms - they cost nothing, basically can´t be destroyed (so it wont block rebuilding your ship if one of those tiny tiny blocks gets destroyed), and glow just a little.

  9. As I absolutely love wing-shaped designs, cylon raider waas one of my first ideas :) I will work on that after I finish my current playship (hopefully) or somebody makes it before me :)
  10. yeah, especially thrusters or crew space can get all kind of screwed up in the process :/
  11. It doesn´t seem possible with standard basic blocks, but it is possible if you copy and paste more than one block at once - such structures can be "handled" on another point, if you hold alt while placing it.

  13. Somebody stated that push turrets are great for propelling asteroids into stations :-P I personally use one pull turret together with salvage turrets, they pull debris to me, so I can easily salvage the wreck without too much moving.

Good approach for such a big ship would be to make external engines mainly visual, and stick real "half-the-ship-sized" engine to internal hull, surrounded with huge clusterfuck of thin thruster. Also best solution is to make the ship really really huge in creative mode, and just scale it down when applying plan in real game

  16. I am also creating my own daedalus version, but I chose 1:10 (not 10:1) scale, so I make it 10x bigger than it should be right now. I intend to scale it down to proper size, otherwise it would be just absolutely ungodly expensive :D
  17. "Nice looking" :D Well not in this case. Otherwise yeah, it is possible, but you will still be loosing something. But hey, who would like to fly a brick huh :)
  18. I have usually problems with those stupid super long NPC ships... even from 200m and standing still 70% of my firepower just straight misses. And when I hit them, they start rotating uncotrollably, so they are even harder to hit :D

  21. Problem with such angled surfaces is, that they will always be only decorational. You can´t properly use them for containing any other proper blocks, as they can´t be shaped the same way. So at the end of the day, all this stuff is just nuissance making your ship less effective gameplay wise, adding only empty mass and few hp (which is really not that important at all).
  22. Hi. When undoing blocks with mirroring enabled, it doesn´t undo both blocks at the same time (original and mirrored), so it may seem like you only got half of your mats back. But press undo one more time, and it will be removed completely. When deleting, blocks are deleted on both mirror sides. As for copy-paste - open your build menu (space, or that plus on bottom row) and in the top right corner is template material. Change this to material of your desire and it will be used for copypasting.
  23. yeah, it uses seminewtonian physics sadly, so when propelling forward, it acts more like an atmospheric jet plane :/ While using other thrusters only, it works great and realistic, but forward engine does this shit constantly (I crashed often because of that, when accelerating towards station, I sometimes realize I am too fast, so I flyby station, turn around and aim back at it... when suddenly my ship propels full speed forward straight into station instead of floating backwars for a while)
  24. Nice job mate :) I can imagine adding 20 of these on my ship, and killing every server I log into.. :D
