Thanks man, I like wing shaped ships :) My new model will blow this one out of the water though...
You are right, there are glow block on the engine pods, but those pods are not for main engines (even though there are two smaller ones), they mainly cover and protect my arrays of 0.05 thick thrusters... thanks to them this ship breaks and moves faster sideways than forward :D

I am really enjoying the switch to this ship, though going from a much smaller ship to a bigger one like this was a PITA at first. Is there a trick to hiring all the people you need?
I recommend mod from mod section, which increases crew count for hire on stations :)

Shaping up really nicely in that last update :)
As for bussards, I think that glow is better, but maybe I would obscure that front part of glow, so it is less visible from side, and same from the front?

Somebody also suggested ziping the XML file, as it greatly reduces its size :)

Emergency brakes system;
There is already one in place. When you turn around your ship, you can use your main engine to stop. Also, there is some bug (or feature?) that allows you to change direction of your flight to opposite direction in single instance without slowing down. (probably because this game uses semi-newtonian physics)
Recruitment centers: a new type of stations where you can hire big amounts of the crew members at once;There is amazing mod out there in mod section, which solves this issue, you should check it out :) Although I agree that this mod should be part of main game.
An ability to use your saved ship presets while building ships on the shipyard;Not bad idea, but quite redundat, as you can build your own ship from preset and just recruit a captain in it. It would make it easier though, and would make sense if your "buy not build" idea was also implemented.
Bigger docking range;There is mod for this feature aswell, allows you to "dock" from 0.3km
Animated warphole and warpgate jumps;Is already on devs to-do list I think :)
An ability to unselect single blocks after performing a multiple selection;if you select multiple objects, you can unselect some of them, by holding ctrl and clicking with middle mouse button (if that is what you meant)
More visually subtle version of thrusters (moderate glowing while they work insted of flashing pillars of light).In graphic option, you can untick "bloom" and all thrusters and lights will be much less pronounced and visible. Solves the problem quite well, but I agree it should be toned down overall.

I agree that rolling is very weird and confusing, rendering it basically useless unless you really need to align your orientation with station.

Just a note tho - do you use some super special calculator to evaluate when to start breaking? :D

Hi, safe spaces will be added in future updates.
Right now, the best way to redesing your ship, is to create new galaxy, tick the box "creative mode" and create your new desing here. Save your finished design, launch your original galaxy, go to builder mode, and on bottom right corner of build panel is tool for browsing your designs. Apply your created design and you are good to go! :)

Just make turret placement position out of armor blocks, and you can laugh at railguns all day long...

Sadly, I don´t think there is any way to protect the guns, as they wont shoot over any part of your ship :(
For protecting your guns, I have only one idea: designate a special place for your turrets on your ship, and make this ship of biggest baddest chunk of armor you can possibly create. Make sure its under protection of Integrity field generator, and only the small part of this armor is visible from the outside, so it can´t be damaged easily.
For example here on my ship - this is my pre-shield variant of Shadow Mk2 :) All titanium made

The blue and yellow blocks (colour coded according to rarity level of guns its wielding) are designated armor blocks for weapons, made as big as possible (blue ones go from front all the way to back, and its one solid piece).
This pic is old, right now I have 14 guns there and I have never lost a turret (not even in collision)

Thats true, shields make everything helluva lot more efficient, as my repairs could go really high before that :)
Also pro tip for better life: if you have problems with constantly crashing into something - make bumpers! Take those construction blocks, and make protective cage/bumpers in front of yourship. It costs almost nothing, and it can save your life, or atleats few thousands of ore in repair :)
If you want to look pretty, add few holograms on top of that construction, as it costs nothing aswell :)

Yeah, I agree on all points.
In my opinion, thruster block as it is now should be completely removed. Imo there should only be basic engine block, which could be rotated to any direction so we can create lifelike propulsion system, which actually needs some careful positioning instead of using exploits :) Especially considering that less blocks=better performance, this can be quite an issue in some cases :)
As offset, I would just make engine thruster slightly bit effective to compensate, as main engine block isn´t really that effective right now.
Also, having requirement that your thruster output should be uncovered sounds quite reasonable imo, huge thruster block completele covered in heavy armor is weird... Right now my ship has its BRAKE thrusters on the back side of its wing, so it thrusts into the wing :D

Steamarchievement told me to do a barrelroll in a Battleship.
What is a battleship? And what is a battlecruiser, destroyer, corvett and other classes?
Is there any overview of these? Or an other way to get my class?
I haven´t seen any official class system, even though some NPC ships are titled (like Corvette, Cruiser etc.)
In real life, Corvettes are 500-2000 tons, Frigates are upto 7000 tons, Destroyers upto 10000 tons, Cruisers upto 20 000 tons, Battlecruisers upto 40 000 tons, Battleships upto 70000 tons.
So you can probably go by this, and make your own classification :)
