  1. Yesterday I was playing Vulture... watching a battle between two factions that I could not assist in without either choosing side or getting squished... Waiting for drops and salvage opportunities, and a repair turret dropped that I could mount on my ship... After the fight was over, I tried to use it on one of the surviving ships to no effect... I assume that is intended... however I wonder if it should be allowable... you can accidentally shoot someone and get faction hits... intentionally repairing them should be possible and give you a minor faction kick... say 0.25 points per HP... it would take hours to farm up Faction this way, but it certainly would allow you to crawl out of Poor standing to allow yourself to access their support buildings for other stuff...
  2. Ahh, as I said, I'm still low enough to not have fought them, so I was not sure.
  3. Similar to my thread about equipment organization, the HdB could act as both a storage system and possibly even a mail system between players. Since it would be a structure, players could pay a fee for having a "vault" that was size dependent on their investment, and/or upgradable with materials. paying a fee to mail materials/modules to other players would also save on time invested on meeting up in space...
  4. At low levels (where I am now) it feels like Salvagers are simply the go to weapon... tank up, charge in, Borg them, and done... Salvaging lasers are significantly more powerful than any weapons early game... But lets be honest there is still a need for them and their function... but their purpose is for dissecting a wreck... not a ship that is fighting back... what if they were reasonably "Fragile" in that the immense power they put out is so finely tuned that each time your ship takes damage, the salvaging laser takes a few seconds to re-calibrate... They can still be an incredible Alpha strike if you can get close enough without aggro, but once the enemy combatant does damage the calibration cycle starts over... And once you hit a ship with that sort of damage output, you suddenly become the biggest threat on the field...
  5. Thanks! I did take a few minutes to scan through to make sure I was not duplicating efforts ;-) I also try to make a point of pointing out if my suggestion has a specific impact like Balance or QoL
  6. No clue how my thread got merged into this one... My post was about organizing modules and turrets... and to m,e seems completely different than the points of the OP
  7. As I see it, Every piece of loot I get falls in one of four categories: New/unsorted (everything should default here) Keep/Reserve (these units are not displayed when vendor screen is open) Save/research Vendor I spend more time digging through the same collection of stuff to find the ones that matter, or trying to figure out what I picked up in the middle of that massive hairball fight....
  8. Notes per sector are great but you have to go and read every note... If I need to find something I'd like to see a colored exclamation point to see that I made personal notes... and dropping a "beacon" in space while in a sector would be amazing... or the ability to "tag" an object with a beacon... ... I'm in the middle of Mining an asteroid.. Pirates warp in... I drop a beacon or just tag that asteroid I'm working on and go and fight.. then in the middle of the fight I get jumped by some enemy alliance ships... so I tag the wreck of the pirate I just killed and go deal with the intruders... after all the fighting and salvaging I can still see the two tags from my interrupted Mining op and that Pirate wreck I forgot about... Also a great way to keep track of the mega-asteroids that I may choose to build a mine on...
