Does it make sense to have a folder for mods that can replicate the structure of data/scripts into which we can put modified files?  I think overwriting the pre existing game files makes it hard to keep track of mods and troubleshooting them.  Do updates to the game currently overwrite these modded files as well?

     

    TL; DR: I would rather override than overwrite files.

  2. I love Avorion and have played over 100 hours.  I love that the game is moddable and supporting Linux already!  I would like to ask if you are considering open sourcing the engine.  Two examples of such commercial games available on Steam are Barony and HyperRogue.  Both of these have already seen benefits of community PR's (pull requests).  Thank you!
