  1. It's possible nobody has ddos'd you, but if you hand our your IP to random people then you can't guarantee that there isn't an idiot among them.

    The game currently sends its data uncompressed, so that might be a limiting factor for you. koonschi said, that data will be compressed in the future.

    More spread out players will also likely increase the network load.

    it's amazing that you want to post your creations on this forum. We love your creations :)

     

    But now that more and more people are posting their creations, I am going to limit them to one thread per user. I want to give more space on the first page(s) to more users.

    There are already a lot of "xyz's Shipyard" threads, where user xyz posts all of his submissions. This is style I am looking for :)

     

    Don't worry about visibility, you can edit the first posts of your thread and the edits should show a notification on the board, as do updates through new replies, of course.

    Also, you don't have to repost all of your stuff, I am going to merge your posts soon.

     

    If you have anything to add/remark about this, please let me know.

  4. Hey, afarina1

     

    you should try to enter the beta branch on steam.

    You can do so, if you right click on avorion in your library and select properties. Then switch to the 'Betas' tab and from the dropdown menu choose 'beta'.

    This should resolve the problem, that every sector gets constantly attacked. But you might need to move to a different part of the galaxy if two factions are already at war.

  5. Don't trust everything your read on the internet, Thundercraft. 'Looks like' is not the same as 'is a' ;)

     

    Koonschi has said, that he has written the game in C++ and, obviously, partly in Lua.

     

    Here is a post I dug up from 2013:

    No engine, I wrote this stuff myself in c++.

    I'm using a bunch of libs though, directx earlier, SFML (replaces direct sound and input now), openGL in the future, lua, and boost.

    DirectX will be removed, as it works only on windows, and openGL can do everything directx can.

  6. Without any information about your system it might not be easy to help you. Please post your system specs and and client logs as described in the sticky post at the top of the forum.
