  1. No problem, it's always good to help other people :)

Also, please don't call yourself an idiot ;). Nobody knows everything and nobody has the ability to do everything. It's normal :D

btw r u guys want to do something with this bug??

I can't tell you more about this, but the devs will certainly try to improve the compatibility with Intel GPUs.

  2. I can't do anything about the game, I am just trying to keep things flowing here, sorry :)

Even if CCC is unstable you should try to open it and follow these steps:

    1) Click “Power” and select “Switchable Graphics.”

    2) Choose Avorion(.exe) from the list or browse to the installation directory of the game and select it there. Then assign the AMD GPU to the game.

You will find Avorion.exe in the installation folder: <steam folder>/SteamApps/common/Avorion/bin

Here is how to find your logs from the stickied post:

    How to find your logs:

On Windows, you will find them in your %appdata%\Avorion\ folder. Type %appdata% in your windows explorer's address bar to get there.

On Linux, you will find them in your ~/.avorion folder.

The logs for the client are called clientlog XXXX.txt and the logs for the server are in the AvorionDemo\galaxies\[your galaxy name here]\ folder. They're called server XXXX.txt. XXXX is the timestamp of when you started that server. Look at the timestap, take the one where your game crashed or where you had trouble, and post it.

How to add your logs if they are too big for the forum:

Please post the contents of the logs on pastebin.com. Then add the link to your post.

Try to create a new pastepin paste for each log file.

  3. Are you completely sure you are using the dedicated AMD graphics card?

If you are using a notebook there might be a setting in the AMD drivers which allows you to set the dedicated graphics card as the default for Avorion. But you might have to google it, as I don't know much about AMD cards. I have only found this which could help you.

If you have a desktop, make sure you have connected your monitor to the output of the graphics card and not to the output of your mainboard. This might sound weird, but it's still probable and worth checking.

If this won't help you should upload the logs from the game here, as it is described in the sticky post in this forum.

  4. Have your set your system to explicitly use the Nvidia card for Avorion? Usually the dedicated graphics card is not used by default. If you get the warning message on startup of the game, then you are using the Intel Onboard graphics.

Steps to do set the Nvidia graphics card as the default:

    [*]Open Nvidia Control Panel

[*]Select Manage 3D-Settings from the list on the left

    [*]Select Program Settings

[*]Pick Avorion from the list of programs or select the executable from your steam install directory: <Steam install>/SteamApps/common/Avorion/bin/Aviorion.exe

[*]Select it to always use the dedicated graphics card from the dropdown menu

  5. How do you trade credits and resources. We couldn't figure it out.

You have to use the in-game mail system. You can open it from the icon with the envelope.

Just fill out the user you want to send it to and enter the amount of resources.

You can also add turrets to the mail. Just open your inventory at the same time and drag the turrets to the fields on the right side of the message.

  6. I think this is what your looking for. (Since I took the time to actually, "Read this First", at the top of Bug forums..)

Edited:Created a Pastbin Have file listed as 'Avorion Jan 30th 3:52A Battle Crash'

Can you please post the link to the pastebin paste you have created?

  7. Edit: a simpler issue is this: how do you explain that happening? As far as realistically in game you are only in one ship. The rest of your ships are run by hired captains who are in those ships flying them. Is your consciousness somehow leaving your characters body and flying into the other captains? You change ships by getting close and moving into those ships, which makes me believe the players are meant to have some "physical" existence in this game, which means they shouldn't be able to just teleport through space into another cockpit.

Perhaps a way to control other ships only in the RTS view while you are not in system with them?

I basically share the view of CitizenCake.

I think that you are supposed to be a single person, which is starting small and making its way to the top. As a person you wont be able to just swap to the other ships and only move to them over docking (close distance).

Long range commands, aka strategy mode/RTS view, would be also my suggested solution. Just think the other commanders are asking for orders, but rather on which target to attack and not on the exact spot they should hit.

Also, I am not sure if I should move this to the suggestions thread by now, but I think I will leave it here for now.

  8. Enter the drone ('T') and found a new ship. Add the basics you want to have and transfer crew/cargo over to the small foundation you've built. Then, from the new ship, select the old one and enter build mode from the interaction menu ('F'). Then you can disable safe mode and if you delete everything you should stay in the new ship. Then you can continue to build the new ship.

You could also just remove everything except for the root block. Your cargo will start to float around you but it doesn't matter, you will pick it up as soon as you have new cargo space and it can't be stolen. Then built up your new ship from the root block. But you should be quick as your crew needs crew quarters and power or they will leave.

If you are doing this you can also easily change the root block: Just add the block which you want to be your new root block, disable safe mode and delete the old root block. now, if you enable safe mode again the only block that should be left is the new root block.

  9. Could you please post the last logs here? There is a sticky post in this subforum in which you will find the locations.

Maybe you should also upload the galaxy folder as a zip. You will find it in the galaxies folder, which is in the same folder as the clientlogs.

  10. AI ships should currently only work if the sector is loaded. Thus, if you leave the sector and jump to another one, your miner will only be loaded for about 5 minutes. After that nothing is happening in that sector.

You will currently have to stay in that sector or if you are playing on a server with multiple people, someone has to be in the sector.
