  2. totally agreed that the term "boat" comes a bit strange for a spaceship... i guess for me its an leftover from Battlestations Pacific where the small PT Gunboats were the smallest naval vessel you could pick... sticked somehow, just like since playing X3 and EVE i cannot agree to classify Destroyers smaller than Frigates, like realworld-navy or BF:G does it... just seems wrong to me somehow...
  3. After hitting the "Copy to Clipboard" Button, you need to press CTRL+V to bring the plan up from the clipboard to your mousecursor, if you hover over a block now you should see your blueprint ready to place!

  6. finding out how to make these beautiful rotating thingys everyone uses here! :D otherwise i could tell i got shredded to tinytiny bits by the MAD Energy Base... seemed to be real mad at me... need a bigger ship! (Not flying the example above ofc!)

  9. Welcome here, some nice ships you brought to us... Interesting to see a documentated evolution of your ships aswell! I especially love the angled narcelles on the Chimaera, mind if i use the concept? Tried something similar, went... lets say i stick with straight ones for now^^ Made some SE-Replicas myself, mostly the results were quite satisfying, but cant argue about taste i guess, look for yourself:

  12. Exited to see what comes out of it! Got distracted a bit from them with another project, but definatly will finish them when volume-update comes... And nothing bad to start somewhere given IMO, i myself plundered the Space Engineers Workshop a bit and began to modify their basic designs for the FX-3 Series here in Avorion... Some screenys? Pretty sure you wanna see some screenys, why else should one come to the creative section? ::)

Comes as if i had ordered it, right at hand... just thought "Oh, damn, i think i overdid it with the new ship...", and the ingame-scaling is... lets say i try to avoid it where i can, better build anew on a smaller/bigger scale... But those times are over now! A THOUSAND THANKS for sharing!!! Worked like a charm! Look for yourself, the bigger one in the background is what i used for input, made on a basic block size of 2x2x2, while the output in the middle (scaled with 0.5) was as wished for all fine with all blocks rezized to a basic size of 1x1x1, just like the others - no strange odd numbers, no decimals where not needed, all blocktypes respected accordingly... just wow: Have you taken a look at this? Click me hard! Its koonschi's "Ship Building Contest Official Build Tool" from this thread! Its outdated, yes, and wont be updated soon as there are other things to come first, but its pretty much a standalone version of the games editor... played around with it, liked some points (safe sector to build in, exporting into maingame was np,...), disliked others (some functions missing, some QoL Stuff, ...), so i sticked to the game itself, but maybe its enought for your workplace?
  14. Well, on my last early game i suffered of the problem that basically anyone wanted to fight me! :o True tho, i usually try to mine and upgrade first to a bigger design. Nevertheless i'd be interested to hear of other expieriences...
  15. Interesting Design for the starter ship, but dont they suffer from shooten out braking thruster? My nosemounted ones were picked out regulary, so i try to avoid them now or at least cover them with some edges whilde still keeping the flame exhaust... Oh, and was the Poster always there? Cool one, i like, the Station in the background fits the Avorion-theme very well! Captain Iglo approved!! 8)

  17. nothing as iconic as to have your own Logo flying with your fleet, such a nice idea! Voted for new Advertisement Ship, since i havent used stations yet...
  18. i agree with Thundercraft & Tsunamik that 0.25 makes a good compromise... little enought for those enemy ship's wreckage and the occasional rub-your-ships-butt-tenderly-against-the-roid... ...buuut if i do something really stupid like boosting with 3k m/s forward and overlooking dat roid in front of the gate... i SHOULD get wrecked in that case, not just bumb off of it IMO, no matter how big the ship... :'( related to that: Integrity Fields make Blocks individually 10x harder, but this wont affect Ships total HP, aye? So would a Block on the Nose of my ship, if destroyed from a collision enought to hit the 10x HP of it, do more dmg to the Ship at all as if there was no Field Generator? Cant a nose without Generator not be used as said crumble zone?

  20. thx, still my favourite aswell, smaller ships are more or less Update-Steps made to easier reach it again on a friends server... Nightingale is a cheap Full-Iron startership (not as cheap as it should be tho...) while the Foxfire-Class is more appropriate as a small Miner after getting your hands on some juicy Apple-Green Ore for Shields (which make the pesky Pirate Attacks less costly!)... Made me a full Trinium Version aswell 8) After feeling secure in the Trinium-Tier the Ezekiel-Destroyers are there to provide a smaller, cheaper Chassis (compared to the Capital Ships). It sacrifices Jumprange for an additional Upgrade-Slot and can act as Firesupport/Escort with Longrange-Weapons or bigger Miners, also the base Chassis for the Kastelan-Transport (which inherited the huge design flaw of missing Jump Capacity :-[) Dramiel-Strike Cruiser are basically Charon-Class Carriers without the Hangars, made to have a escorting weapon platform with similar stats... i'm still working on Naming, Class-Arrangement and other fluffy bits, so take those for placeholders until i come up with a uniform system i am satisfied with. for the FX-2 Line, they mostly come together quite nice, the smaller ones having trouble to brake atm and i might have reduced the Engine Narcelle's size a bit too much... we will see when the Thruster Patch gets live ;D (Oh, and no plans so far on releasing the Covenant... a experiment to increase the size of the design gone wrong... just there for the sake of completeness)

Hey, thats exactly what i asked myself earlier when i messed with .xml editing trying to find that one Hyperspacedrive i havent upgraded to Xanion yet... very appreciated! i made myself upgradeable versions of the same ship as blueprints, so you can easily upgrade them ingame, and it even shows how much materials are missing before you can upgrade!
