  1. I think it's somewhat unfair that thrusters and engines which are buried in armor are just as effective as those which are exposed.

There is the concern of creative freedom, but I think some kind of compromise should be made here, though I'm not entirely sure what that should be exactly.

In any competitive environment where minmaxing will be the norm, everything fragile and of value will likely be stuffed inside thick blocks of armor with integrity fields, so you're going to see a lot of monolithic bricks with reactionless drives and no discernible weak points.

you're absolutely right, it makes no sense.  Space Engineers got this part right: have thrusters do damage to nearby blocks.

  2. i need help findig a reshearch station i have over 28 houers in my current world and have not encounterd one i have sherched almost erverywher and fully maped 4 factoins in the prosess i have sherched close to the core and near te sides but to no prevail can anyone help please

    just wait, it gets worse

  3.

The one thing that bothers me the most, aesthetically, is the entire "Blocks in Space" motif...

Yeah, The thing that makes the voxels thing interesting is that, although sure, you can just build a blocky whatever ship, you can also take the time to make something visually appealing.  Not for the players to do tho, the devs need  to do it themselves or find someone to do it- because it still needs to be procedurally generated, just in a way that takes advantage of the voxel system (in other words making the ships look appealing)

  4. Ok, so you play the game, build up your space ship, get toward the center... but you want MORE! You want to drop a fleet of your well-designed battleships on unsuspecting factions!

But wait a minute... how do these crew guys work? How do I order my fleet around?

I can't find anything on this topic- maybe it's a relatively new part of the game?

The biggest problems I'm having are:

ships don't follow me through hyperspace

(even with captains and being ordered to follow me)

ships don't attack enemies when told to attack enemies

Once I told a ship to attack enemies and it launched all the mining drones and salvage drones.

    Oops?

I tell a station to "guard this position" it has guns, it has gunners. Pirate show up and it does nothing?

    HOW DOES THIS STUFF WORK!?!?!

  5. I would go so far as to say each faction should within their borders have access to every type of item, whether it be through a factory or a trading post.  When the game spawns said factions, it should go through to check things are all there.

Some might say, well that's no fun for space traders who want to take advantage of one space empire lacking a certain thing!

To that I say, FINE! Broaden the scope so that, when the game spawns a cluster of 2-4 factions, let it go through a list to confirm each type of item exists therein again be it through either trading posts or factories.
