  1. This Idea would be not completely bad if Avorion was a AAA Title with dozens of programmers behind it to realize such a complex system besides solving the "usual" THOUSANDS of problems, bugs, gameplay optimisations etc.......

     

    The thing is the system in place is already very addicting as a matter of fact that getting weapon drops and the hunt for better(random) weapon stats is  one of the main driving factors of the game! (Its like Diablo 2 or 3 ;D )

    It is much more fun than material hunt! (salvage/mine ::))

     

    And larger more complex weapons would also affect fps performance.

    Building weapons you want is already in game and thankfully not too powerful as you need to trade for components.

     

    So a really bad Idea in this case!

     

    What we need is a good weapon balancing !

    This is what matters in the long run for SP and especially for Multiplayer!

     

  2. Hi AVORIONS!

     

    This game got me  like out of nowhere! :o

    I already gave up the hope for a second part of Freelancer, one of the best space games ever. :(

     

    But here it is, a hope for all Freelancer fans!  ;D

    And the most important part is that unlike the X Series  the controls are easy to manage.  :P

    It is very user friendly and that is what mostly mattered for me. 8)

     

    Also the building mechanics combined with the hunt for better weapons are the main factors for its addictiveness! ;D

    So the only thing this game is missing on my account is finesse in story telling.

    While even freelancers story is little weak , Avorion is almost a blank in that field.  :-\

    But that can always change since there is still some time to release! ;)

    I noticed a bad KI behavior with freighter ships ramming the stations they want to trade with and destroying the docking port in the process! :o

    This might be because of the new thruster system ?

    The brake speed of the models may be too low...

     

     

  4. I guess many of the complaints in this thread stem from people who where use to their multi million m³ behemoths to (keep) flying like a small drone.

     

    I for my part would wish to switch of the the automatic dampening (like space engineers) effect thrusters have while in standard control mode. I know the alternative mode gives you that but it is too akward to play with for me.

     

    But the thing is that most AI ships are quite big as well ;D So you have to have a big ship later on to survive.

  5. Hello to all Avorionados! 8)

    I want to point out that the new thrusters are a little bit better now but still feel weak!

    The "realistic" physics are quite annoying from my point of view.

    A big issue is also because of the new physics, AI is now making a lot more mistakes!

     

    If we say in a distant future where ships can warp around it will be logical that they would have anti-inertia(/antigrav) systems in place so they dont move that sluggish like a snake.

    And thrusters in that time wont be the same as today(like lame rockets)

    If you want to play with todays technology you have "Kerbal Space Program" or "Space Engineer", but please dont make this game a pure gravity simulation  :-\
