  1. Absolutely gorgeous. The Providence's hull shape must have been a royal PITA to make. Also digging the details on the Archon's engines.

For sharing your XMLs: if you own an android smartphone, you'll have a gmail account. You can use that to log into Google Drive and upload your files there. I don't usually poke at chinese websites.

  2. I don't scale them simply because it'll most likely ruin any chance of modifying them. On a 0.5 scale you can half every dimension and still work on a 0.25 scale but then you can't have the 1:2 Grid:Scale ratio anymore which makes building a PITA. Halving a block on a 0.25 scale gives you a 0.125 scale. Good luck ever doing anything with that ship again.

On another note: Magus is finished!

  3. That pioneer is simply breathtaking. Stunning work on the details like those little boxes stacked on the winglets. Really makes it look "alive" in a way.

I had a look at the Tornado, too. Is it an older/newer model? Caldari Prime Pony Club has a different model for the Nado or is it just inspired by it? In any case, slap some paint on it and you got yourself another ship to showcase!

  4. Patch 0.11.0.7767

    [...]

There was a similar restriction to engines, which I removed, but in turn reduced the power of a single engine. So your ships should accelerate worse with less engines, but a lot better with more engines.

    [...]

    Rebalanced engines

    • Removed artificial restrictions on engine scaling with volume
    • Reduced power of engines
    • Engines are now worse when you have few engine block volume, but better when you have more

    [...]

I can not confirm that the number of engine blocks has any effect on thrust or max velocity as long as the total engine block volume stays the same. This is just to clarify since the first paragraph of the patch notes seems to indicate otherwise and gets contradicted later.

  5. Working on a Magus right now. It wasn't in the game yet when I was playing and the design looked interesting so I went for it. Drake... maybe. I haven't seen the latest model yet so I can't tell if I'll be able to make it look decent. Brutix for example is just HELL to remake because it's all round and bubbly.

  6. I can't see some of the images?

I can confirm that most of the images don't show up in Chrome while they all do in Firefox. I'll try to fix them, somehow. Meanwhile you can follow the links to the albums at the bottom of each section.

The problem seems to be with Google+ Photos. Unless you are logged into G+ you can only see the album cover, which incidentially is the first image in that album. They also don't really have any privacy settings so I'll probably need to look for a new image host.

    Should be fixed now.

  7. Another EVE aficionado! Hello there! Gotta say, the first two are quite recognizable. You messed up the Abaddon's beak, shame. And the providence needs a repaint. It's not a Caldari design - filthy money grabbers.

I do not recognize the 3rd design or the name but I've been out of EVE for a couple years now so it may just be a new ship.

why i can only upload here 128kb image ?

You should find an image host for your screenshots, then use the IMG tags to include your images. There is button that looks like a tiny version of the Mona Lisa. Paste your image link in between the IMG tags.

Also, have a look at this shameless self-promotion. Maybe get some inspiration from it. Those winglets on the Abaddon deserve some more love.

  8. Since I seem to be far from done building ships related to EVE Online I'll have to clean up this post quite a bit. As such I'll only be posting ship overviews in spoilers and a Google+ Photos link to the album containing all the screenshots relating to the ship. There will be a Photobucket alternative.

    Stratios

This is a project I did to really get used to the ship builder and see what's possible. Everything was built in creative mode with unlimited resources so I didn't have to worry about that. Note that while the ship is "playable" it's severely lacking in maneuverability. It is also too big to use jump gates - unless that is a bug.

    Total build time ~50hours.

EDIT: Did some cleaning-up on the hull. Replaced all exposed Maggots (a.k.a. Xanion) parts with Trinium and tried to fix a couple of the transitions between angles but it's mostly impossible with the parts we have.

Brake path - full cruise to zero: 16.4km (forward), 16.2km (sideways), 15.8km (backwards; no engine thrust)

Turn time: ~5.3 seconds for a 180° turn

    Material cost:

    • 5.45M Credits
    • 89'585 Iron
    • 26'954 Trinium
    • 405'590 Xanion

Retriever - model Sept. 2016 and earlier

It's a Mining Barge class ship. Lots of moving parts and it eats roids. To offset the lack of moving parts I used the new inertia dampener blocks for details that light up every time the ship starts to drift and some useless thrusters for added fire effects.

    Build time ~6 hours.

    Magus

It has an interesting design with a boat-like middle section and 2 heavy wings suspended on either side. I chose a different skin from the original Gallente design. Dark greys with red and white accents. I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out. Some of the dimensions are just ... off. It's not nearly as sleek as the original.

    Build time ~22 hours.

Brake path - full cruise to zero: 15.1km

Turn time: ~5.1 seconds for a 180° turn

    Sacrilege

Good old Maller. Except it has a pair of extra engines sitting on its wings. Lots of very annoying curves and bent shapes in this one. Turned out too flat at the top, too bulky on the townwards-protruding section but at least it looks somewhat clean.

    Build time ~40 hours.

Brake path - full cruise to zero: 16km

Turn time: ~3.6 seconds for a 180° turn
