  1. Hey There

gollum reminds me of something from warhammer 40k.

A Space Hulk is a massive conglomeration of lost ships and wrecks fused together. They drift through space and in and out of the warp and during the millennia the lost ships join together into one enormous body.

and every time i look at babu

my brain classyfies it as this  ;D

As you can see i like simpler builds and being a not talented builder helps a lot about it

    Art in its broadest definition:

something created on purpose, to cause a reaction in somebody else.

    your ships qualify easy  ;D

    best wishes

  2. Hey there

awesome work on the ships, as a homworld fan

i like how you capture the homworld style and bring it to avorion.

as for the update, please do not take down your uploaded ships

they drift more yes but, they are a good source to learn from and a

    good base for modification aswell.

and the type one miner is just fine

if someone uses a upscaled version (because it is that good)

it can drift a bit much (depends on personal taste)

    but they could do this.

Red = Directional thrusters / Green = Inertia dampeners

p.s. yes i parked infront of my own ships (80% i was there anyway/20% shameless exposure)  ;D

    Best wishes

  3. hey there

    thanks for the quick reply

You would either have to use the cheatmenu or a little bit of programming to add a command that handles this.

    found another way  8)

You graphics power is the limiting factor. And some missing links (Coal, Raw Oil, Diamonds) in the production chain. Look in my signature to find a mod that adds those.

thanks for the advice but i already have your mod .... and a cuple of others

constantly sniffing through the forums pays off

when you like modding (tweak the game to your personal taste)  ;D

  4. uhhhm

could one just run the asteroidSpawningLib.lua mannually to spawn a claimable asteroid ?

and before you ask i wanna experiment with mines stations and production chains

see what the game is able to do/handle and what is not there jet.

    best wishes

  5. Hey There

updated the post (ditched the company theme here)

    so lets get to it

    i like workships (yellow black)

and designs that look like mining ships in general

however not all of my ships fit this

here are some of my ships i feel i can post here

MDS MK IX (version 9 of my very first ship/cheap mining drone)

Dozer MK III (Titanium combat ship / version 3 of my second build) comes in ®=regular and (T)=Themed  ;D

Stingray (Naonite ship) my third ship i wanted to build something very different from this but it just happened  :D

    comments are always welcome

and if you take one of those for a spin and find a fatal flaw

    feedback is also appreciated  ;)

    Best Wishes

  6. dude totally awesome

looked at it, fell in love with it

i really dig "work" ships, i prefer them yellow with black highlights but hey

test flight in ten minutes paint job after that.

thank you for a joyfull evening  ;D

  7. hey guys,

i thought of something that i think is headed in the same direction but first a warning !

mainly this is going to be me thinking loud

i have no clue how the game is coded or how the scripts work

or if the right "hooks" are exposed in the code to make this work

the last time i coded something was way back in the early 90s but

all coding was logic and i hope that still applies.

The command i whished for is well discribed by "meet you in a few jumps" or "call ship to this position" given that

it is a few jumps away, so here is my scenario.

lets say you are in sector and you have 3 captained ships (miner/salvager/sector patrol for those pesky hostiles that

appear what feels like every 5 minutes) and you want to relocate them to a sector you do not know yet, what you do is.

    target the ship

    open up the command menu

tell the captain to go to the "jump hub" (bear with me for a moment explanation follows)

function wise the "Jump hub" would remove the ship from the sector (play jump animation) and save it with coordinates

to a place that is attached to the player an can be loaded and unloaded if so desired, rinse and repeat for each ship.

so you found the sector you want your ships to go to and you want them there.

    target yourself

engage long range communication (load the save spot and display its contents)

    select ship (self explaining)

call it to your position (measure the difference between save coordinates and player coordinates now, for every sector difference add delay of X seconds, get total delay and sart countdown, at 0 spawn ship near player, if no other countdown is running unload save spot)

this is what i was thinking about navigators and the sector unloading problem, what interests me is

if the code would make this possible would this be a proper concept or is my line of thought way off?
