  1. Well, you're at the outer edge of the ring you can find him in - your distance is 425 and Swoks is between 380 and 430.

    You need to stay outside of faction space, and have a 5% of finding him each jump. Or you find him after 8 jumps to valid systems zhere you didn't.

    I'm still not entirely sure what a valid system is - it might be a hidden mass system (yellow blip) or just an empty sector. Try both.

  2. -Bounty hunting is a great way to make money - you don't even need to get paid for killing pirates (though it's a nice bonus), the money you get for selling the turrets and upgrades they drop is good enough payoff.

    -Trading can make you millions once you have some cash to invest - get a good trading module that shows trade routes, get some good cargo space, and go trade, buy low and sell high (pay attention to how much goods the station you're selling to accepts, though)

    At the point where I got this way, buying and paying hundreds of crew is pocket money  ;D

    Did someone say Homeworld? No?

    Why not? :V

  4. They only become hostile to you as soon as you fire weapons in their vicinity.

    You don't need to shoot at them, just shoot in general.

    The thing is, as long as you leave them alone, they kind of leave you alone, too.

    We had reports of ships flying through entire Xsotan fleets, and it looked like they barely noticed our ships were there.

    We know that they eat up matter - and they're attracted by energy bursts, such as weapons firing.

    My advice to you: Don't fire weapons when they're there, and don't get too close. You never know.

  5. I agree. These are wonderful ship designs. And that would be appreciated!

    So far, I've found exactly two Avorion ship files.

    Everyone seems to love showing screenshots, but hardly anybody wants to share?

    *ahem*

    4 files, more to be added later :V

  6. Yes, ship schematics are stored in %appdata%/Avorion/ships in XML form.

    You can put xml's you got from other people there, and they will show up in the build view, under plans (the save icon in the bottom-right of the left UI box). You can then select one and apply it.

    Some people in this subforum (including me) put those XML's along with the screenshots  :)

  7. 1) In the current game version they block every hyperdrive in the entire sector, so the only way to escape is to destroy the blocker. (will change to range-based in next Avorion patch)

    2) Haven't really tested it. It might cause problems, as client and server scripts need to be the same, or it might just not work.

    You can just switch back to the normal script when you decide to go MP, though

  8. Tip: you can edit the XML file of your ship to do this -

    replace e.g. all instances of

    material="0"

    with

    material="1"

    (number depending on current and desired material, obviously)

    in your favourite text editor using the replace all function, save the file in %appdata%/Avorion/Ships, restart the game, go to plans, and it should be there for you to apply.
