  1. I think it only works with ships that have a captain and aren't currently being piloted by you.
  2. As the title says, I can't assign groups for turrets. I go into the ship menu, click the turret so it's selected, press the number button and nothing happens. Switching between them works (though there's little point in switching to an empty weapon group :P ) Now, my guess is, my keyboard is azerty, so the top row aren't number keys, and I have rebound the turret group keys to the numpad. Maybe the assignment nevertheless tries to use the number row (which I don't have)?
  3. The current closed beta for the game is for people who backed the Kickstarter on the right level (or who got a key from someone who did :) ) Game is set to come out in early access later this year, though.
  4. I did a tiny bit of "data mining" and found where to find all the upgrades. Added to the OP. Spoilers etc
  5. Are those numbers on the turrets the weapon groups? In that case I can file a bug report and am not an idiot :V
  6. Done! Well, the battlecruiser I designed (but can't afford) has 7, so I could attach a giant computer core block for crossing the boundary :V
  7. Followed one to the end. Here are logs from the last beacon with the coordinates to the empty sector: https://app.box.com/s/lbs44b36w1hbxo19u9j1n2y84tbwop5n
  8. The 5 (of three types) I've found so far all do.
  9. True. Done. I think Swoks was III and Botan VIII, and MAD science was definitely VII, and I think I saw IV for sale. Dunno about the rest.
  10. I've got 3 or 4 upgrades from the MAD science mobile energy lab, so yes :)
  11. Swoks is the pirate guy (forgot his name :-X ), AI is listed, which means there's still missing one (unless you can buy 2)
  12. A consolidation of info on how to get to the core, for people who are stuck trying to figure it out. The Way Right along the wall around the core you can find a hidden mass system with therein 8 asteroid stations in a circle, numbered from I to VIII. That's related to the 8 Xsoltan Artifacts you can find (legendary upgrades numbered the same, from I to VIII). When you have (and equip?) all 8 of them a jumpgate to the core opens. Things leading to those artifacts can be found in sectors with a hidden mass signature (equip a radar upgrade). The Artifacts (minor spoilers) Detailed guide (major spoilers) I II III IV V VI VII VIII
  13. As another aside, it would be nice if the game remembered the beacon messages you found in the "exodus" quest item, or if there was a note system that isn't tied to the map, in case I lose my notes in the clutter on my desk ;)
  14. Okay, I'll try that. As a side note, the game could maybe use some more pointers related to getting to the core - I'm about 50 hours into this save and I'm still figuring it out. (Maybe I'm just really thick, though :V ) And the game teased me by giving me 2 avorion turrets I can't use cause I don't have any avorion... (I like the general "figure it out" structure though, games these days have to much handholding :) )
  15. The ship builder is very powerful when it comes to geometry (I think Starmade has more functional depth, in Avorion placement doesn't matter most of the time, just size) so it's just that the community is small. After all, all that's out of it now is a demo and a closed beta version. I'm sure when it's in early access we'll see a lot more fancy ship designs.
  16. I figured out how they work by now, but I can't check it cause the coordinates are inside the core, and I still haven't figured out how I get there.
  17. Actually, why don't shields protect against collision damage?
  18. I got a reputation drop for killing a civy ship. The factions whose relation with me dropped were at that time shooting at said ship. LOGIC :V
  19. And that's why I'm slow to file a bugreport about these things :V
  20. There are beacons with one coordinate? I've only ever found ones of "# number : X number" or "# number : Y number"
  21. I'll see if I can find it when I'm back home monday or so.
  22. I had the same happen, twice - wasn't sure if it was YX or XY so I went to both, but nothing in either sector.
  23. Another thing: it would be nice if lines between wormholes didn't fade out that quickly when zooming out, since to find where they're going you have to drag the map while zoomed in over large distances and then zooming out and in to see where you are, which is a tad tedious.
  24. ...unless they are only in "hidden mass signature" systems and I've been checking the wrong systems for an hour. And now I've killed him, and I have still no idea how to get to the center. Unless I gotta collect all these legendary upgrade thingies. :) *ponders*
