  1. This mod has really caught my attention!  Mostly because of the Fighter Factory, but the rest looks AMAZING too. I really like the idea of seeing new stations like the Resource Trader, Alliance HQ, Gambling Stations you can gamble at etc. as additions to Avorion.

The other thing that caught my attention was the Pirate Warlord.  It is the addition of Quest Mods which has been upon the lips of my admins this past week.  Additions of such quests would continue to breath fresh life into the game and extend the life of each Galaxy.  We are finding that knowledgeable players can quickly rush through all of the initial content, so we have been looking for ways to add additional content.

Thank you for all of the work you have put into this!

  2. I would press T to eject, and the fighter would turn around and attack me, and when I died, I ended up inside another rogue fighter.  This has happened over and over.

Fighters mostly refuse to return to a career.

Fighters from a destroyed career will go rogue and attack anything they feel like.  We have lost BILLIONS of credits to fighter bugs.

Recommendation?  DO NOT BUILD FIGHTERS.    Wait until they actually work.  :)

  3. I agree with the above.  A carrier that is killed will leave its fighters to attack whatever they want.  Recalled fighters unwilling to recall to the carrier.  Lost fighters from a destroyed carrier are not recoverable, stick around the sector, often attacking ships from the same player who lost them, are not removed during a server reset.

In addition, the fighters are constantly getting into fights with each other...  :(

  4. I'll add some recommendations to the wiki. If you have a machine that supports 8 threads (e.g. a 4 Core machine with hyperthreading) I suggest 8 threads for a dedicated server, 2 or 3 generator threads and 2 or 3 script background threads.

Make sure you have as many worker threads as hardware concurrency, 2 - 3 generator threads are usually sufficient (you only need more if A LOT of people go and discover at the same time). Same for the script threads.

Many thanks for the heads up.

We are running 6 core and 12 threads, so I will test out with workerThreads=10 and generatorThreads=4 and see what happens.

RCON does not seem to show up in any of the ADMIN menus.  /rcon does not pull up anything, and I do not see it in help.

Perchance can you share the actual console command to set the RCON remote password, please?

Thank you for letting us know that no user code was incorporated in the latest update.  Sorry that I was lead to believe that this was not the case.

    Many thanks!

  5. Wow...

Lots of darn good statements and questions and not one reply from the Devs on a brand new update now 24 hours old.

@AugyTek:  You said it my friend.  Give credit where credit is due, especially when the recipient gains economically upon the sweat of the unpaid.

What is so hard for the Devs that they can not post the format for the RCON password?  Is it because the RCON is not actually working?  If so, can you say so?

Now with Multithreading in place, when are you going to post information on the proper setting for both workerThreads and generatorThreads?  Are there any other configuration options now in play that have not been listed in relation to MultiThreading?

    O.o

  6. Anyone else having this problem?

I have been trying many ship types and sizes, to get around my miners from getting stuck to the side of an asteroid.  Still, I am in a constant battle to keep them going.  It is not like they are even trapped between a group, but are always stuck on the side of a lone rock that pressing the E key would get them away from.

    :(

  7. Hello there,

From EvE Online, the Corps Violent Force Productions and the Vindicator Corporation have brought online a fully stand alone and dedicated Avorian server this last month.  If you know about the book series "The Golden Age of the Solar Clipper"
