  1. I dont mean you should stop playing, but you cant change the rate of updates. You knew it was an alpha game, so you should have known it was not bugfree and polished yet. It wasn't my intention to attack or insult anyone, but stuff takes time, they're humans after all, and that's what i meant with my previous post.

ps. If i insult/attack someone with this post, im sorry, it wasn't my intention.

Wanderer, I don't think anyone else took your comments as insulting or as an attack.  You're good in my book.

  2. I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy, but I do consider you to be very naive when it comes to development.  Stability, efficient algorithms, resource costs (for the users PC's), and more all have to be considered with everything you do.  And on top of that, with every change you make you often run the risk of introducing new problems into systems that did work.  I'm not saying it should take the developers 5 or 10 years to button up this game, but considering the amount of time they do have into it I think a bit of grace and patience should be allowed.

You also seem angry or a bit on the offensive side in your replies.  Maybe that is just how I read into it.  At any rate, chill and enjoy the game.  If this game doesn't do it for you, try another. :)

  3. That's why it's still Alpha :P

The money I've paid and the time I spent were an investment. To help support the development a bit, to cause, find and report bugs.

If they release it in a state similar to this, I'd feel the same way.

Quit Robocraft because of this. Freejam got consumed by the Dark Side.

since this game have 1 year development, and take too long to update.

i have pessimistic point of few.

I'm curious how long you think it should take to develop a proper game.

EA should have 2 year. its a max year, dont prolong to forever EA.

and beta should be 1 year.

or you want this game finished in 10 year ?

for game this small it will not take too long to finish. unless dev want to add more.

So you do a lot of developing then?  If that's the case you should make an offer to help.

  5. Should open planet interface and manage planet from there.

I didnt really care about planet landings.

Just able for us to design building in planet interface.

You should have said that in the first place. That is something that is most likely able to be done, and I would like to actually see at one point

If planet landing possible. Then why not ?

I dont get it from community who lack of ambition.

Sure i didnt care about planet landings, doesn't mean we should ignore it. Maybe dev capable to implement it ? Why not.

Why not?  When would you like the game release date to be?  Scope creep kills all projects, games or not.  Lets not scope creep.

  6. do you guys know that micro transaction are killer for gaming industry ?

like that damm war thunder ?

    i rather have DLC.

As a mobile application developer and avid game player I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.  Micro transactions are the new normal.  So long as a game/application gives you the ability to earn the same thing over time vs. purchasing it, micro transactions have proven to be wholly successful.  Games that suffer tend to be the ones where those upgrades only come through micro transactions with no ability to earn it in game.  It allows those with ample time to play games the ability to earn stuff without the expense, whereas people with schedules that don't allow for massive game hours are able to compete by using micro transactions.

  7. Borg cube.

Any cube. Not having spheres, this game uses cubes as a counterpart for the perfect geometrical shape.

Make a cube cargo bay. That's what's most important. It's the least material spent for the most cargo space. Any material. Cargo space stays the same. Trinium for most manuverability. Avorion if you like durability. The shape of other components is less important.

    But here's my design:

    - Use 3 sides of the cargo bay to put Crew quarters, engine, shield, power,... No thrusters yet.

    - Fill the corners with whatever stat you lack to make it into a cube again :P

    - Divide the length of a side by 6. Let's say it actually is 6, will make things simpler.

    - On each side (excluding front and back), place 1x1x8 thrusters, facing the front, aligned with the front side. These will provide thrust, breaking force, pitch and yaw. Delete the ones at corners. You should be left with 16.

    - Add 8 1x1x1 thrusters in place of each of those deleted, facing the corners (64 total). These will provide strafing and rolling. And help with the rest.

    - There should be a 6x6x2 hole in the back and 1x1x8 holes in the four corners.

    - Fill the back hole with something. A big engine is what I did.

    - Check how much health your ship has. Divide that number by 4. Call that number "plate health".

    - Place an 8x8 panel of best material you can afford on the front. Make it thick enough so it almost reaches "plate health". Copy-paste around.

    - Fill in the edges so it looks like a smooth cube of the same material. Merge the edges with panels. Be careul not to select all. That will merge the strafing thrusters.

    - Remember that 1x1x8 hole in the corners? Each corner can have an Integrity Field Generator. Smallest possible. Each plate gets an IGF and has 3 redundant. You actually only need 2 of them, but symmetry is nice.

    - Plop in a few flight recorders

    - You can use 2 opposite corners to place fighter storage instead of IGFs. Make those stick out through the back plate. Efficient, effective but ugly imo. Doesn't fit into the smooth cube design

    - Make some formation with the turrets you'll be using. Best if they all looked the same ;)

    - If you ever need to remove the turrets, just delete the plates under them and undo. Viola! Smooth cube again :D

To expand it, dig into it from behind or front. Gouge it out so nothing remains between the thrusters. To be safe, copy-paste it all onto outer plates before deleting. Take a look at what stat can you spare. It's most likely the cargo bay :P Shrink that component and expand on whatever else you need. You can also just scale the whole thing up.

P.S.: core health has to be 40% of the total. The six outer plates 10% each. That's why you divide by 4. IGFs spread the damage a part takes over other components of the ship, up to 10x of the part's health. With this design, as soon as you lose a plate, you die. But that also means each of your sides is as thick as your whole ship! If your health bar is low and you survive, your ship will fully auto-repair over time for free. No weak spots. Functional and stylish.

Edit: for temporary expansions, stick a tumor of the needed block on the back side. Probably a jumpdrive for a trip over the galaxy or a cargo bay for a mission. Delete after it's no longer needed.

I think I understood most of this.  Do you have a blueprint you can share?

  8. The videos are great but here is my honest opinion:

If u wanna make guides for people then make guides. Not these 45min long gameplay videos which most people wont click on that are looking for guides.

I prefer these game play guides more because less steps are missed and less assumptions of the audiences knowledge are made.  Maybe I'm spoiled having multiple monitors but I just have ZIGGYD playing on one while I still play on the other.  When I sit down to play I'm going to be there for at least a couple hours so I can get in 2-3 videos in that time and I'm left with less questions at the end.  I'd say I'm not alone either, he's got a ton of views and my in-law that purchased the game for me pointed me towards his videos specifically.

  9. No gates or anything there.

    Kinda pointless it seems?

If you take a worm hole and end up in an empty sector look at your map and start jumping towards the green or yellow dots.  You'll soon find a faction that way.  They may not be friendly.  Most of the worm holes I've gone through to date originate in a faction controlled sector and dump me into an empty one.

  10. Hello everyone!

I'm usually not much of a poster, more so a lurker.  I love this game though and would like to contribute where I can.  My brother-in-law bought this for me on Steam so I could play it with him on Thanksgiving and I've got over 130 hours into it since then.  Probably too many hours considering I work full time, I'm a full time student and I have a wife & children!  Speaking of children, this game really appeals to my kiddos who generally just play Minecraft when it comes to PC games.  I'm considering purchasing this game for their shared Steam account and letting them play local single player games.

This game really seems to have a great player base and incredible developers.  I'm glad I was introduced to it and hope to get some of my buddies playing it as well.

  11. Koonschi,

I think this sounds great.  I'm 100% for the update.  I do have some questions though.  I used to salvage 100% of the wrecks not because of resources but because of upgrades.  Sometimes the teeniest piece of debris from some part of the ship would produce one.  Will this behavior change?  If I clear all of the low resource blocks will I still have a chance of getting upgrades from those?  Or should the focus now truly be on just the juicy blocks?  Any chance that the independent firing lasers will focus on priority blocks first and then move on?

Sorry for all the questions.  I've invested a lot of time into salvaging for upgrades and just want to make sure I know what I'm facing in that part of the gaming experience moving forward.  Thanks for all you do!
