  1. sure trading post are profitable.

very profitable and you need to have more cargo.

if you lucky you will get rare material out of that (you can take all result of trading post via trade cargo/crew/fighter ). and sell it to other faction trading post.

and don't forget to assign crew on that trading post.

dont forget to have flush trader (/flushtraders) to flush AFK trader (this is important).

i get 1 billion profit because if trading post alone.

  2. Hi,

Thanks for the replies, but - I was still in the tutorial.  I don't know how to move to another sector.  Nor did I have a ship with weapons or thrusters.

The other ships in the sector were fighting them, and I was near a repair base.

    jon

to go to other sector :

    1. press m

    2. see blue line ? that was your warp drive range. you can jump inside that range only.

    3. right click inside that, and add coordination.

    4. then the nav will calculate the jump drive, wait for it to finish. press m to exit the map.

    5. aim to that blue rectangle, then press spacebar. (you ship must aim at that rectangle)

you will do this a LOT.

  3. Maybe weak or strong are based on people perspective. But i believe xsotan capable to destroy million people, creating rift (project exodus), and destroying mutiple civilization (from wreckages, resistance outpost, etc) incapable spam their powerful ship.

Even the most powerfull ship are weak, i dont even need to call allience to kill final boss. Jusf took longer to kill, they are just sponges.

    They need buff. And rework.

Faction war are more challanging than xsotan. (Wich i think, how the hell they lose to xsotan in first place.

  4. Should open planet interface and manage planet from there.

I didnt really care about planet landings.

Just able for us to design building in planet interface.

You should have said that in the first place. That is something that is most likely able to be done, and I would like to actually see at one point

If planet landing possible. Then why not ?

I dont get it from community who lack of ambition.

Sure i didnt care about planet landings, doesn't mean we should ignore it. Maybe dev capable to implement it ? Why not.

  5. It really seems like the game's direction is going towards being a space game, not a planet one. Maybe some day planets can be added but I just think there's too much space content that needs to be added first.

well this thread saying planet are possible.

they should add this feature in future as DLC if they need fund, and planet are very iconic in space game.

and they didnt take a lot of content. (they are a big ship but made by rock, just like asteroid. lmao)

however until now we still wait for combat update.

  6. As a builder I have a certain need to make the ships I build to scale with each other. But fighters are the one thing that the player cannot directly control the size of to my knowledge.

Now, saying that does anyone know if it's possible to influence the size of the fighters useing the hangar block. As an example, I have facade hangar blocks that are medium size, but I put a massive hangar block in the center of the ship, hidden away. Will the fighters physical size match the largest block?

No. And fighter are limited to 120 fighter.

    Wait until another fighter update.

  7. Hi,

I bought the game today, but I'm a bit frustrated because while building my first ship, it was destroyed by pirates that invaded the area.  Is this normal? Do I need to quickly build a fighting ship?  I read in a thread the suggestion to build a ship in sandbox mode, then import the model.

That's a good idea, but I'm still in the tutorial!

It seems to me that getting my first ship wiped out while trying to follow the on-screen prompts is bad.  Did I miss something?  (I used the default settings on game startup.)

Also, while in Build mode, is there any way to have nothing on the cursor?  I kept wanting to press a key to make the green outline of the item I had just placed go away, but it seemed my only option was to select a different object to place.

Again, I'm a bit frustrated, so I apologize if I sound like I'm whining here.

    thanks,

    jon

    Hi, here the tip.

    1. If pirate invade, get out from sector. O sectpry away suffice.

    2. Or you could run away with your thruster. Dont get too close with pirate. Pirathe have maxed speed of 300 m/s then jump away.

    3. Have shield. Go to naonite or trinitium materials. The closer to galaxy center will give you a better item.

    4. Let faction ship attacking them.

  8. >telling me to use my imagination

    Cute.

While some of the things you listed would be interesting, they are already things that could be done with space stations, and probably much easier to implement.  I really don't think plants will bring anything new to the game.  If you want a massive structure to rule over I would highly suggest a space colony  (if your PC can handle it)

    1. You didnt really read my post.

    2. Planet gives a lot of advantages, they are spacious and contain a lot of minerals. You can make production chain in planet rather make multiple station.

    3. Add immersion in games.

    4. Add civilian, so they can pay you taxes. Habitat are expensive.

    5. Food production at planet are great, rather make it on station.

    6. This feature are worth of DLC i will buy.

    7. Why you want dev didnt want to add planet ?

  9. As you get closer to the planets in Avorion  (which are 3d models and not just textures) you start to encounter errors similar to the errors you find if you travel to the far lands in minecraft. These floating point errors will make the screen shake and jitter, this problem happens when your position reaches a certain number and gets increasingly worse. To my knowledge this problem is not fixable and is probably one of the reasons why planets will never be implemented, along with the fact it would bring nothing new to Avorion.

i am sure blowing planets, invasion, taxes, collecting sector / invasion, galactic empire, capital planet, mass planet factory, galactic wonder.

planet gives a lot EFFECT on avorion.

    use imagination.

and to encounter jittering. just place planet in special sector. so that place are used specially for planet.

and i wish to blows up planet.

  10. I'd rather have microtransactions. Look at Warframe. You either pay or grind.

A perfect way to ruin any game.

Read on... I've said, in Warframe, I find it enjoyable. Disliked it in WoW, Guild Wars 2 and Path of Exile though.

I've stopped playing WoW because of the recursive payments. PoE because you play it in Excel and web-auction after a while. GW2 because they started charging for expansions. Perfectly reasonable, but I wouldn't even have bought the game if I knew.

    Given the options of:

    - paying $30 for a full game

    - paying $15 for the base game and $10 for the expansion

    - paying $2 each month

    I'd choose #1.

i prefer if you want to support games, give everyone free steam keys.

    rather making us suffer.

  11. Has anyone pitched a Patreon or other voluntary subscription based system? Not sure how the rest of the community feels, but I'd committ $10-$15 a month towards continued development to keep the project funded.

as word of wisdom, save your money. and don't over hype, you doesn't know how the game ended up. it could be worse, it could be good.

and of course, no need to rush, but i hope we get the feature worth of its time, and max for EA games are 2 years top.

    so time is essence.

Not saying it's the end all be all view point, but my personal experience as an IT professional and developer is that software as a service is a superior business model to one-time retail sales - and it tends to be more fair for all involved parties.

You can only sell so many copies of an application, but a subscription is a dedicated revenue stream to continue improving the product.

If future updates ruin the experience, players can cancel subscriptions and take their money elsewhere.

you can cancel subsription, but your money will never come back. it will bite you later.

  13. When the game reaches 1.0, it represents what it's meant to be. If players don't like it in that state, there's little chance of them coming back even after major patches.

Call that Q3 2018 version of the game a Beta.

Give it the 1.0 title when it's complete, not when your time limit expires.

Don't rush it! I don't want Avorion to fail like Robocraft or X:Rebirth.

time is essence. its ok not to rush, but the powerful game, need a lot of crew to work with. i am ok with DLC as long they give the additional feature (aside from core feature, and giving additional lore to play.) for you to get funding in your game project.

hire more crew for this game, and we got all we need.

  14. Umm the should have more feature implemented and still incomplete. With slow development like this, i think the release pushed far to 2019 - 2020.

No offense, but core feature still need to polished. They are lacking a lot.
