  1. Ive made a few more tests.

    2.) I *think* that Factories do trade when youre not in the Sector. That is, their inventory changes.

    3.) Yes. But it takes ages until they start generating income.

    4.) I dont think they generate Income when youre not in the sector. So, inventory changing, but no money (taken or given) - but again, im not sure. I hjavent SEEN it, but its easy to miss. And even when youre in the sector, this stuff happens very slowly.

     

     

     

  2. Simple theory, (probably) only relevant in creative / cheating:

    Xanion is lighter than Avorion.

    Avorion is efficienter per Weight. BUT: The amount of Systems, and so DIRECTLY the amount of Weapons depends on your volume.

    I can build a lighter ship with xanion that has the same amount of turrets. So, its faster and more maneuverable.

    The Avorion ship will be more durable, but i can use Ogonite, or considering weight probably better, Trinium armor with both Tech-Materials. Therefor: Xanion/Trinium is probably better.

  3. I do experiment with factories atm.

    NPCs do trade with them. But only sometimes. Seems to depend on the sector? Since I only managed to get NPCs trading in creative i ccant answer the rest. If you docking node does not appear however, it might be to small, not reachable or buggy. It seems when you block those landing stripe lights, something goes wrong. If theyre placed, node will appear most of the times. Ill give more info once i gathered.

  4. I noticed the same. I set up home territory, and there is always war going on. Now, thats OK up to a point. But wreckages do pile up, sectors degrade.

    Im not sure, does the KI found new stations?

    The KI also is somewhat stupid. Hostile freighters enter the sector to do trade, and shoot on the station they want to dock with... not really intelligent.

    Repairing / (re)building would be an option. Another thing would be "stable" sectors. Core sectors of a civilisations. Sectors with some station that dont get attacked by pirates and enemys.

  5. Ive build Factories in Creative and noticed that the NPCs indeed trade with the factory.

    They buy and sell Stuff.

    BUT: I also realized that factories need a fairly large Crew. This has to be paid, if youre not in creative.

    So, does a Factory generate enough money to pay for itself and does it generate Money when youre not IN the sector?

  6. I would be interested in seeing some hardware requirements for dedicated Servers as well. Such as "what do i need for how much players" or even, whats important, RAM or CPU.

    It would make planning much easier. I mean, sure, VMs are rather flexible, but you still need to plan ahead if you dont want to move some of your VMs to a different machine later on - which is doable, but rather annoying.

     

  7. Id like to see something like

    The Ship gets hit, 50% of the damage go to the whole ship and 50% to the block that was hit.

    I also like the idea of a limited Integrity Field, like shields. Everytime it gets hit, it looses energy.

    In that direction, I would also like the shields to let some damage through. Like, 10% or so. Shield gets drained, and you take some damage to your ship. This basically means that integrity field and shields are the same. BUT with different stats.

    For example, if you get hit with 100 Dmg and have shield and integrity field, the shield takes 90 Dmg, 5 Dmg go to the whole ship via Integrity Field (and your integrity field takes 5 Dmg) and 5 Dmg go directly to the block that was hit.

    It makes things more complex, but it also forces players to build well-balanced ships. Im not sure about the actual numbers, maybe both need to be lower to even make sense.

    Only problem there is, the damage is small. So, I dont know how the Game does Values <1, but this might be a problem. Scaling everything up x100 would solve that, but that could be a lot of work.
