    I have a captain in every ship at all times. But being that the game is still in development, I find that about a quarter of the time the ship won't move even though it has a captain. Once I reboot the server again, often times it will start moving again.

    Although that process works, it is not something that the game should ask a player to know or to do. In fact, I consider that process a bug as opposed to a feature. What should happen in that scenario is that you should be put into your drone at that location.

    That is music to my ears. Maybe I should switch to the Beta branch. I have been avoiding it in favor of more stability, but this change alone is enough to warrant putting up with less stability. I will consider that.

     

    I've noticed that if you sector switch from a ship (don't exit to drone first), it will not be responsive to commands when you swap back to that sector. Also if its stuck on wreckage from salvaging or something it also won't respond to your escort commands.

     

    I recommend exiting and then telling it to either attack enemies or patrol sector and then sector switch away from it.

  2. maybe this can help you a little bit: pirate/alien attacks only happen to the sector that you currently are in. if you set your mining ships to auto-mining and then leave the sector, they are safe and do not need defensive towers.

     

    Thats true, except if the ship is "Very weak" / Error icon at the top of the window, in that case if you leave it it will be attacked by the persecutors who will quickly destroy it.

  3. If its working you then great. When i tried it, it was the only mod on the server. Maybe its a client/server bug? If your using it on a server and its working let me know cause I think this is a great mod. It just wasn't working for me and my group.

     

    Yeah its working as far as I can tell on my MP server.

     

    The only annoyance I have with it is that you can't just change out 1 mod, you have to clear them all because your Systems Tab is empty / unusable while the mod is "active". So if I want to use 5 systems all the time and then swap out a few others, I have to always add those before creating a new set instead of just doing the difference between the two. Otherwise, its an amazing mod!

     

    I wonder if the issue you guys are seeing is due to another player / ship using the mod, so it installs a similar one and thats why it looks like it got modified?

  4. Be aware that the mod currently is changing stats on upgrade modules. Seams like when the mod puts the item back in your inventory its modified.

    Yep, it appears that when it puts the module back into your inventory it acts like picking up a new module and with that you get the random stats. I'm not sure if this will be an easy issue for the author to fix or not. I really like the concept so I hope that it can maybe be fixed. Try it your self, just make sure you have a backup first.

     

    I just installed it two days ago but haven't seen this problem, my 146% purple shield and +11 jump hyperspace have stayed that way. Is it only certain mods that change stats?

    That looks normal, you are in the

    avorion\data\scripts\entity

    folder correct?

     

    You just have file types turned off and have defaulted .lua files to open in notepad.

  6. No worries, its actually pretty simple, just costs a fortune :)

     

    Go to a shipyard and tell it to build you a ship. Make sure to select "Station Founder" or something like that as an option.

     

    That will give you the option to "Found Station" or something like that by selecting the ship. It will then popup a menu of different station types, and you can select one. They range from like 20-60 million credits to found.

     

    It works as a ship, but also has more features depending on what kind of station you make. You can still build it like you would a regular ship, and it will also attach some parts to it depending on what the station needed (cargo, assembly, etc).

     

    NOTE: you will be unable to change sectors / "move" it once you've founded a station. You can still push/bump it with another ship but can't hyperspace it.

  7. Yes it is possible and very much worth it. I use my station(s) to build my fighters and then transfer them to my crafts.

     

    You need to be within 0.02km of the  "core" of the ship to transfer crew/fighters/cargo, not "docked".

     

    Works the same as ship<->ship transfer just ship<->station.

     

    Get within 0.02km of the selected ship/station, then "F", go to the bottom option of transfer crew/cargo/fighters. Each option is in its own tab. Left window is your ship, right window is the other ship/station.

    This is pretty good, but how do you tell if a sector is a neutral zone or not?

     

    The zone will tell you when you enter it

    • Shows all ships in sector
    • Filter out Civilian and/or Friendly ships
    • Select ship by left or right clicking on the list (Warning, left mouse WILL fire weapons!) I recommend using right click.
    • Choose faction relation level to consider "friendly"

     

    Pre-Reqs: MoveUI by Dirtyredz (v2.1.1)

    Server side requirements: Yes

     

    Client side requirements: Yes

     

    Install:

     

    Download the file. Unzip "ShipNotifier.lua" to your avorion/mods/MoveUI/Scripts/player folder

     

    Edit avorion/mods/MoveUI/config/MoveUIConfig.lua and add the following down with the others:

     

    MoveUIConfig.AddUI("ShipNotifier", false)
    

     

    Where you add it is where it will show up on the main MoveUI screen. I personally put it under "FactionNotifier" since that deals with adding sector faction info and this adds the ship details.

    Figure out if there is a way to cancel mouse button events so middle mouse button can be used for target selection (it selects then deselects since the mouse isn't over a target)

    Improve contrast? Hard to see depending on the sector / lighting. I added a slight drop shadow to help

  10. I'd be all for weapon [parts dropped frequently from ships that had turrets you destroyed. But they should take up no space (separate from cargo) and be more of a currency. That way you could build your own more frequently, as especially early game, trying to build a turret isn't something most people will do.

     

    It's odd how we can have infinite turrets / systems, but to build turrets we need a lot of cargo space, and have to have it on the right ship, while the turret itself can be moved across the galaxy by sector swapping.

     

    So turret parts as a type of currency? Yes please!

  11. Shield boosters with Recharge bonus actually reduce recharge rate, as opposed to what the system says, I just made it negative and it works as intended.

     

    Oh wow... ok thanks I'll have to get that updated on my server thanks for the info! I figured the long recharge time was due to the Shield Reinforcement

     

    Also not sure if its just me but the spoilers aren't showing any pictures

  12. Is there a good way to easily add to the interior of the ship? Its hard to see where you are placing items sometimes and I end up placing them on the outside because it snaps to a piece that is "hidden" from my view.

  13. Yes I've been very annoyed with this mechanic lately as there is one faction who will happly jump into my sector and start attacking me with civ ships and if I fire back / destroy them I get in trouble...

     

    I can't set my guys to patrol for pirates because if one of those dumb ships comes in I get screwed.

     

    The AI:Agressive state needs to ignore civilian ships and the angry faction for killing it needs to be removed if the ship fires first or has been attacked by the faction. Its silly when they are shooting it so you help and they get pissed at you.
