Rashuga
can you increase the stupid fucking dock range?
Canute
- The dockrange is ok, docking means touchrange ! :-) Made your ship more agile ! - But if you still want larger dockrange, check the mod section.
SageThe13th
Um. Don't try to dock at high speeds? You have to approach docks slowing and ease into position. Like in real life.
Cosian
The docking mechanism added quite a bit to the overall sense of immersion for me. I like it. The key here is really being able to control your ship well which is directly related to how maneuverable it is, which in turn is directly related to your build. Make sure you build enough thrusters AND position them well to improve your breaking thrust, pitch, roll and yaw. When those stats are in the white in the build mode it just means you have the minimum required for maneuver. The other thing you can do is turn the collision damage down. The default value of 1 can be quite unforgiving .....
CitizenCake
The key is knowing how to effectivly stack and place your thrusters. Its based on surface area so bug thruster blocks dont help as much with manuevering opposed to stacks of thinner "sheets" of thrusters. Its talked about a lot here: https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1040.0.html Once i figured this out and redisigned a bit my ship was WAY easier to dock.
