Ravenis
I suggest you start using some database instead of these text and index files. I'm indie game developer myself and making one mmo game and database is must.
0 TsunamiFM
Indeed, for example RocksDB or SQLite (or anything else that is compact, fast, and good for embedding in client software).
0 Ravenis
Yeah, sqlite or mysql would be good option. I actually encountered player yesterday who threatened to crash server if in dont give him recources and credits. He somehow managed to mess up index file and i had to roll back to previous backup. There wasnt any other option since index is hex. If you design database there is something admins could do in situations like this. I post error here too. Server gave this every time i tried to start it. An exception occurred: index 233 is already taken Player data file 233 was his.
