drake0214
Hello together, i am very new to this forum and pretty new to avorion. I've tried to setup a server on my snyology (which works pretty fine in my local area network) . But as soon as i start the server he gives this error: Loading jumping entities... ok [s_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning() failed. dlopen failed trying to load: steamclient.so with error: steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [s_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; unable to locate a running instance of Steam, or a local steamclient.so. SteamGameServer_Init call failed Error starting steam-based networking. Defaulting to standard TCP/UDP protocols. Further steam-related error messages can be safely ignored. The server will not be authenticated via Steam and won't show up in public server lists. after a little googling i found out that this error seems to appear if you dont have a installed steam instance on this computer, which is correct, i only have steamcmd. Can you suggest a solution for this Problem? Many thanks in advance! Kind regards Patrick

drake0214
Hi, i fixed the problem, that my server isn´t available from outside, i just forgot one udp port. I can´t start Steam, cause its just a shell. Its a Linux - Server. I can start steamcmd and login but this doesn`t affect the login issue. After all, it's okay, when the server is not listed in steam. Intention was a private server for friends, but if someone have solution, that would be fine. Thanks alot! Boxelware Team cepheni Posted February 11, 2017 Boxelware Team Share Posted February 11, 2017 Hi, if you want your server to be listed in steam, please use the dedicated server tool. Here you find a tutorial on how to set it up: http://avorion.gamepedia.com/Setting_up_a_server
