considering the huge amount of recharge time for the hyperdrive and the inability to use the Gates after the ship reaches a certain amount of Mass/Volume.. it would be awesome if the player can build some sort of a Captains Yacht in order to jump around fast... and the possibility to dock the Yacht on the Main Ship after the Sector Survey is done... ... to be honest many players are doing somethin like this with the default drone.. but lets be honest the drone is way to slow pretty much unarmed and not capable of mining anything ... its pretty much useless after you left the (iron)age...
