Escort ships disappeared

For some reasons, 2 of my ships seem to have dissappeared without a trace from my singleplayer game:

 

I had a mining and a cargo vessel set to escort my main cruiser and was swapping crews and cargo between the threee of them when a group of pirates attacked the sector. Since I didnt want to deal with them, I jumped to an adjacent another sector - however, I when I checked the map, the other 2 ships were still in the previous sector, together with pirates. I then left the game.

 

When I restarted the game later, the map showed that my other 2 ships were still in the previous sector, but the pirates were gone (despawned I guess?), so I used my cruiser to do some trading in the surrounding sectors before jumping back to the sector with my ships.

 

However, there is no trace of them - they are not shown on the map or the ship overview and I dont have to pay the crew anymore.

There wasnt even an insurance message or any wrackage in the area, so I guess my ships either despawned or jumped into nothingness :(

Firstly, at the moment, escort do not follow you via warp. I've had this happen to me once before with only 1 ship.

 

There really should a request in the modding section for a script that allows your ships to follow you.

Maybe of modification of the claimable Asteroid movement script?

 

As for your escorts "de-spawning", I have no idea what has happened there.

Thats not entirely true - escorts can follow you if you jump, it worked for me multiple times (I think one of the last patches added that). However, it seems its not working reliable at this point.  :(

Mh, can you maybe post the logs for that? Just asking because that should have been fixed already on the beta branch. Them disappearing from your player menu is still happening but nothing more than a visible thing. Usually the ships are still there, it just is a matter of finding them again in the last visited sectors. So maybe they did jump and are in that sector?

Otherwise the logs might help us further.
