Systems have this one patch of asteroid yet the planets are huge.
And once a systems materials are mined out there is nearly no point ever going to it ever again.
So here are my suggestions
-Stars should become actual objects like planets
-They should also do damage if you get too close
-Different star colours
-Planets should have either momentary patches of asteroids but multiple instead of one of have a ring of them
-Materials shouldn't be everywhere and only one claim asteroid per ring planet otherwise there would be no incentive to expand
-Microjump gates should be a thing and maybe a microjump option for ships
-A system map or planetary orbit map needs to also be a thing for that
-Maybe a mining hub for mining ships or fighters to operate from where it slowly gives you materials by using the fighters. Also they should work offline.
-Maybe claimable planets that give you a small but useful credit and resource gain per hour.
