Dinosawer
Not sure if this is a bug, but when I try to play while my laptop isn't connected to a network the game hangs forever on "Connecting" when I start it, even though I'm playing singleplayer on one pc. Boxelware Team koonschi Posted November 9, 2016 Boxelware Team Share Posted November 9, 2016 Did you run Steam in offline mode?
Dinosawer
Tried it both in offline (on the train) and online (at home, started steam, turned off wifi and started game). Game starts, can't connect to singleplayer. Windows 10, in case it's relevant.
Boxelware Team koonschi Posted November 10, 2016 Boxelware Team Share Posted November 10, 2016 I'll need both server and client logs to find out what's wrong here, please.

Boxelware Team koonschi Posted November 18, 2016 Boxelware Team Share Posted November 18, 2016 Server log says "An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions", and client log says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". Either your firewall/virus scanner needs exceptions for Avorion, or something in your networking configuration in general is not configured correctly. RandomCommander
This happened to me too, once. I don't exactly remember if it was a firewall or my configuration that caused it, but somehow I fixed it. @Koonschi: You should make it so that it kicks you back to the menu and shows a dialog box if you were unable to connect in such a manner, instead of letting it hang indefinitely. Dinosawer
I think I found it - one piece of work software on the laptop used port 27000, and when I shut that down the message changed and it got to loading. Is there a way to change that default port?
Boxelware Team koonschi Posted January 8, 2017 Boxelware Team Share Posted January 8, 2017 Right now it's tricky. Can you tell me what the name of the software is?
Dinosawer
Sure - it's the Flexera License Manager - but I doubt there are many people who have that and want to play Avorion on the same pc :)
