server-client lag

We have a dedicated server setup on a Centos 6.8 host running Avorion in an Ubuntu Docker container. Prior to the updates this week, we had relatively few issues with lag. The only times we saw it when there was a lost connection to server.

 

However, now we are seeing it fairly often. The server will run fine for a while then we start getting long load times when hyperspace jumping, or we will start seeing enemy and NPC ships just spinning in place. Combat, mining, and salvaging is sometimes sluggish. NPC ships warping around while in combat and even wreckages warping in your path when flying next to them. We also see a delay when an enemy reaches 0 health and dies, the ship disappears and sometimes takes a second or two to spawn the wreckage.

 

I've checked the logs and see nothing useful in them. We've also shut down all other servers on or system with this being the only game running and we see the issues. Again, these issues were not seen prior to this past week. Are there any debug settings or additional logging that can be set to troubleshoot this? Has anyone else seen this?
