Hi Community,

what are your expierence with the new persecutors?

Patchnotes:

"Added persecutors that hunt players down when they go too deep into the galaxy without proper ships or weapons"

overall i think this is a good idea, the only problem i have with it that they sometimes appear instant when you leave your ship as a drone to build a new one or something like this. Would be nice if they dont spawn when you are in buildmode (obviously your ship will be weak when you build a new one) and we should have about 10 or 20 minutes time in drone mode before they can track you. I died already few times just because i wanted to build a new mining ship.

Does someone has a workaround without warping back in a low tier sector.

Another solution could be that those guys dont appear when any kind of strong alliance ship is in your sector.

"Added a "Switch to Sector" command that lets a player switch to a ship of his on the map"

did someone find out if we can use this with alliance ships too? I didnt yet, seems to me that it only allows player ships to switch.

Regards

They are an incredibly unnecessary addition that penalizes exploration, artificially delays progression for no reason, reduces the reward for what is already a major risk, and delays access to the materials needed to really take part in the primary mechanic of the game; ship building. They feel artificial, cheap, and they add nothing of value to the experience. In fact the actively detract from the games enjoyability. If you want to make coreward diving more dangerous, just work on making the combat deeper, maybe add more hazards as you get closer to the core. In the end, a skilled player should still be able to explore and achieve rewards for taking risks, without the game arbitrarily telling them "no". It's just forced grinding at that point and grinding is not fun.

They are a hazard and lower difficulties will spawn them closer to the core. I think they help add some much needed progression and danger to the world.

It only takes about 10,000 titanium and 50,000 credits to get them to stop hunting you in naonite territory. You can also dodge torpedoes or shoot them down with PDCs.

Effectively, Persecutors should only gank ships that got in a sector, not ships that are native to a sector, cause it is kind of stupid, as no amount of guarding would delay the inevitable destruction of a non-dodging, defenceless proto-ship >:(.

They should also only attack in enemy territory, of course. I'd be way less friendly if a friendly faction assassinated one of my ships :'(.

Of course, that problem almost doesn't concern people who make their ships in Creative Mode at an arena 600+ sectors away from the core, but come on, there is a time when you'd be browsing what ship to spawn, and then BOOM, torpedo in the cube :'(.

Persecutors would probably also cause problems to any ships that count on being less noticeable, like quick scavenger ships. For instance Persecutors can spawn anywhere so that kind of ship instantly become obsolete as they'll get wiped in any sector :(.

If they appear to kill drones, it's also stupid and grief-like, especially when switching to a sector. Want to get to your ship ? Getting escorted by it ? Oh sorry BOOM you just got torp'd AND your ship is now in danger and with no orders to defend itself ! Freaking griefers !

Long range seeker torpedoes are also kinda imba as diplomacy becomes either unreasonable or ridiculous, as to become friends with a faction, I'd have to get constantly hit by torpedoes from faction frigates while defending one of their sectors from pirates and xsotools, so I'd need to have a ship that can withstand all the ammunition they'd carry (or having an impossibly agile craft to dodge them), without defending against them (Or is it ? Does shooting torpedoes lowers rep ?).

Poor ship :'( !

And, beneath the Naonite ring at harder difficulties, cue inevitable repair costs.
