Suggestion

My first suggestion would be to make it so that you could select multiple turret bases, and then be able to designate those selected turret bases for a certain turret design. For example, I select 5 big turret bases then group them together, then select a turret design, and then those 5 turret bases now would have an inactive turret design of the heavy turbolaser design that I wanted. Then maybe making it so that those turret base groups save with the ship, but not the turret design used for said turret group of 5 turret bases.

My next suggestion would be to make it so that you could tell the AI to go get crew or to get equipment. This would be helpful since I honestly don't like to go to the ship I created that is AI, and then putting turrets on it along with getting the crew as well.

Would it be possible to make it so that factions can declare war on other factions, and if said faction wins it gets everything from the faction that was just conquered?

Maybe even letting the player create a faction or join one that already exists in that galaxy.

Also, would it be possible to make the planets in the background have a bigger role than just being aesthetics?

Please tell me if I need to explain anything better.

I am totally in for the turret thing!

If you are interested in other people’s ideas on factions and a dynamic galaxy, check out the threads I linked in my signature...

Interaction with planets is a difficult topic, since landing on them is pretty much impossible in terms of game design. Here are some ideas:

- stations that represent the planet in space and e.g. sell specific goods or something like that

- some kind of orbital relay, space station, gate, whatever, that would enable the player to actually do something on the planet (I am thinking of some kind of graphical interface, mabye with pretty pictures like you have in Space Rangers 2). Then factories or other facilities could be build on the planet, or the player could interact with the local civilasation... planets could work similar to the (atm not existant for some) functions of casinos, some factories, research depots, equipment docks etc. etc.

The devs stated that the ability to „land on planets“ is not likely to be added to the game and I honestly think that the game has other weak points that the devs need to take care of... And since I want to see a release some day...
