currently the hidden rich resources asteroids which need the mining systems install to be easily located can be a hassle to mine early on. if you dont have a strong mining setup on the ship, it could take minutes to mine the single large internal resource block.
i think splitting up the the internal block in to sections would make manually mining the rich resource asteroids a bit more tangible for those with 1-2 mining lasers. at least you would be able to partial resources out of the asteroid if you end up having to leave the sector due to an unwelcomed guest of xsotans or pirates show up.
while splitting up the internals wouldn't really effect the total time to mine the asteroids, it wont feel like a waste if you have to leave it half way through for one reason or another.
