  1. Hey guys! I have created an Avorion vanilla server running on beta branch for testing. It's hosted on a dedicated server with only some low traffic websites. This server is set up on some low-end components to see how good Avorion server can be if you don't have a lot of money so for now it's only open for 5 players at a time but if it's runs smooth that will increase. There are no mods, or any special settings, and as soon as there is a new update it will be upgraded. Of course, I will do my best to keep the uptime high but it's for testing so don't be angry if it goes down or changes happens. So feel free to join and help me test out performance. It's listed as a public server so you should see it in server browser list or you can join by IP with avorion.connumin.com:27000 Some server specifications Server: HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor (GC760AV) CPU: IntelĀ® Core2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz RAM: 4GB 800MHz Network: 100/100 Mbit fiber. Disk: Western Digital WD Green WD10EADS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5 OS: Ubuntu server 18.04 x86_64 Linux 5.0.0-37-generic
  2. I just started playing Avorion a couple of days ago and I had also terrible fps and horrible lag that usually started after a pirate/alien fight happen or some serious building. I tried to just restart the game, that worked okay until next fight or heavy building and then all goes bad again. Tried a clean installation of Avorion, same bad fps and lag once a fight or some custom building was done. By curiosity, I tried to OPT IN to the latest beta version instead and now ALL problems are gone. So the v0.30 will probably fix this issues. So please try to opt in to the beta by right click on the game in steam -> properties -> beta -> choose "Beta Newest changes" in the dropdown and let steam download the updates for Avorion. Before I opted in to the beta, when Avorion started to lag and drop all fps it used between 9-12 GB of RAM, now it never uses more than maybe 4 GB and my FPS keeps steady around 90-120 on CPU: Intel Core i5-7300HQ @ 4x 3.5GHz GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 RAM: 16 GB And all settings between medium-high.
