  1. Damn, i did not think of blocks getting seperated in the process, good point! Ooh, now that sounds interesting, and a good approach for the delete-thingy... excited to see what you can come up with! And... wait, you know alrdy what i'm going to ask? Even me has no idea what will jump into my mind next! :o
  2. Still active on this? Suggestion: Would it be possible to add a "none" option to the "Choose Blocktyp"-Dropdown so you are able to delete blocks at all? Stumbled across that tonight and thought that would be useful to have for downgrading blueprints to lesser materials... for now i replaced em with Reflectors (since i usually never use em) and deleted the entries manually.... I recomment any1 to try this little program out, still one of my favourite tools here! Great work, thanks again for creating/sharing!
  3. This one isnt totally forgotten! Started to gather some reference material and actually building, might take a while, quite complicated stuff here, but wanted to let you know things are happening...
  4. "Oh, a challenge, i love competition!" Oh, wait, no, im not!!! If there was a just request i might consider... Just joking, me quite busy on another request atm (UNSC one), for that ship i might have some thoughts yet: - Define "Battleship-sized"! - Why the minimum crew specs? - No Xanion but high energy demand! - No Iron for Inertia Dampeners (as Griffon pointed out) - Careful, there are 2 numbers on the Hangar, one for max. number of fighters, one for max. Volume for Fighters.... i guess you mean the former one? - Bonus would just be holding Q and rescale the finished product? If you take a look around here im pretty sure there are enought Starwars Fans that you can find a Stardestroyer alrdy game-ready for you to start with... i might give this a try later, as said there are a few projects beforehand which wait to get finished... EDIT: If you want to make things easier for ppl you could provide an export of that ship to get an .obj file one could use on a page like this... helped alot to have a 3D model on the 2nd screen while doing SE Red and Blue! Note that said page has an option to export to .xml, but thats another format than Avorions .xml files... believe me, i tried :P
  5. Open build mode, then open the Saved Ships window where you would Apply your imported plan on your ship... now there is a Button called "Paste into Clipboard" (not quite sure how its called in english tho), use this and hit CTRL+V to bring the "Shadow" on your mousecursor. If you now hover your mouse over you current ship you will see the shadow, and with it an list of materials and credits it will cost in total! On the other hand you could use the Avorion Commands Package from the Mods Subforum, including /price to print ship cost to the text window (only for your current used ship tho)
  6. You could half that list: Step 1) to 3) as stated. 4) Dont place yet, but pick the block you want to place from your Hotkeybar... you will notice the shadow will change, but keeps size, you might want to adjust this here aswell. 6) Place the Block and notice it kept the color from the one selected in Step 1) Another option would be to use the Avorion Ship Upgrade Tool from the Mods Forum, you can adjust color there aswell, note tho that you wont get the premade colors from the Game, but an full RGB Sliderthingy! So place the color you want to use before so you got an template in the Tool later...
  7. Troublesome Stick-Ships? Naaah, all fine: "Just a little bit closer... just a little bit!"
  8. I guess lots of your trouble comes from being new here, myself had a hard time getting away from SE's build mode and get used to Avorion... after roughly 400h now i think i got the drill basically, but i definetly think the stepless variable blocks together with the option to clip em into each other makes it the best InGame-Editor i've found up to date, and i played (and still am playing) LOTS of em! Uhm, sorry, but simply nope... FTD had such an bad Editor i'd step away from adapting anything from it! Cluttered, complicated and very unintuitive, combined with the complexity of the game, with selfcrafted turrets and AI Scripting included, an expierience that had driven me away from the game real quick... and me never was afraid of complexity, EVE's "steep learning curve" was laughtable for example... like gotta go through 3 consequent SubMenus to choose a simple block? Even Space Engineers defied G-Menu made it better... A matter of taste at the end i guess, but i definetly prefering Avorions Build System! From Kerbal, Robocraft and Space-/Medieval Engineers over Starmade and Creativerse until Wurm Beta and ARK, never found one easier to use whlie keeping such creative freedom!!
  9. Even if a bit late for the party, i think this... ... is quite handy, tho the missing Salvage-Laser on the Weapon List could be added! ^,.,^ Ty nevertheless!
  10. I thought a quite long time how one could argue here, maybe reposting the EA-Disclaimer again, but then i saw this: ... and suddenly all became clear... Anyone knows how "Perlen vor die Säue" translates into english? Like any argument would be a waste of effort... Your analogy there is wrong btw! Like saying on Tuesday "I meet you in a couple weeks!" and you complain on Saturday you havent heard anything of me! I even send you a message on Friday i dunno an exact date yet... That would be more accurate i think... DAMN, now i eventually did it anyways...
  11. On topic: Finally had time to look closer at some of the newer ships: - Beautiful design for the Advent Light Cruiser! Reminds me abit on that carrier ship from the game's Trailer... 8) - Olympus-Class wtf?? :o Seriously, this is just a breath-taking stunning thingy you made, congratulations, you won... I love the whole series btw, could be 1:1 models from any generic Space-RTS... and better! :-* - uhm, not sure if intentional, but you missed 2 mirrored... dunno the english word, beams?... on the Servus:
  12. Did i hear Homeworld Fairy-Mod? Those Alos-Empire ships are soo beautiful...
  13. you can find Longsword and Musashi here: Click me hard! (not my work, but i knew i saw a UNSC Topic before...)
  14. Uhm, yeah, exactly, i meant more like plans for updating that in the mentioned guide, should have been more clear here... lets not derail any further and keep discussing here? Hijacked an old topic of mine^^
  15. Another push, another topic: Clipping Share your thoughts, folks! 8) *work in progress, expect editing happen*
  16. (click Teal'c to get there!) Nothing to add ...mmh, maybe besides: If a schizophrenic threatens with suicide, is that a hostage situation?! But a Question regarding said guide: Any words about clipping blocks into each other? Seems almost like a unwritten rule NOT to mention this here so i decided to post in your topic before my own gets closed by moderator/natural desaster/evil forces...
  17. not everyone uses (or likes) that , i was so glad to find the "turn that annoying thingy off"-option i didnt even considered that... good point tho Ofc against other players only, why would one want to have a sector where you can build indestructible stations because they're safe from NPCs, too? True that you gotta find em first, AFAIK they simply dont exist until you generate a sector with the Safe-Zone-Attribute...
  18. sry, but cant agree here, dont want to wait twice the loading screens for every sector i jump across just because i get into said "nullspace" everytime... for logging-off there are safe-zones where you dont have to worry about other ppl doing crap with your stuff... Aah, now it makes sense, kinda as in shadowfree floodlights on sport-stadiums? Yeah, with that i can agree! Oh, and how about labeling this 3rd option "Design-Mode", besides Normal and Creative? or more renaming the existing creative to something like "Sandbox-Mode" or "Unlimited", and get the name "Creative-Mode" for this suggestion?
  19. totally agreed, i'd love to have a proper place for designing ships (and stations, too!), basically what the Standalone-Build-Mode from this contest provided... ofc up to date, but its basically what you just suggested... Oh, and i dont know what to think of the higher lvl of Illumination, sometimes my ships are laying in the dark until you cant see anything, on other days my angle to the sun is so it already makes my eyes tear if i dont turn off Bloom...
  20. you're welcome, and... OH SH**! Now THATS a beefy Red-1!! if you can provide at least a screenshot from top, down, side, front and back i should be able to recreate the "Penitence", hard to judge from the 2 pics on the link... thats how i copy the ACI ships btw, by the pictures uploaded on the workshop... the zoom- and turnable 3D-Sketchfab you gave to us made things alot easier, but thats a luxury im not used to! 8) Otherwise, i agree that i tend to build in a very different way here compared to SE, but what you describe sounds more like Orcs trying to get their green hands on a new SpaceHulk (for non-40k enthusiasts, like THIS) :P Jokes aside, me glad you like them, and for the Irony: Thats what this forum (and the Workshop in the near future \o/ ) is here for, no? Sharing stuff, inspire ppl and get inspired (and sometimes shocked by the creativity some show off!), and basically have a nice time with others enjoying the same game as you do...
  21. So, downloaded your ship ("My ship is my best friend, my life, and i must master it as i must my life"), set it up with fighters, pilots, mining lasers and crew, and nothing unusal happened... so i got a captian, ejected into drone and tried the mining command... as expected, the ship headed towards the next roid, launching all fighters in the process, and stopped when entering again... ok so far... Then i tried to stop it renotely, as you pointed out the Idle-command didnt work (made the ship spin around at amazing speed!?), but Passive-Command made it stop mining and returned the fighters... good... Now comes the tricky thing: When i gave the ship the mining command, and THEN fired the captain, i couldnt stop it since when i gave the passive command, it just said "No captain on the ship"! And it kept mining/launching... any chance THIS is what happened to you?
  22. Another workaround for this would be to name your Mainship so that it appears on first position on the fleet list (like starting with the letter A, all other ships with the letter B). Anyways, point is, you will always log in into the ship which appears first on the list (in the same sector ofc)! Might be easier to keep in mind than teleport again everytime you log...
  23. Ok, since this is my first Bugreport here, and the InGame-Bugtracker always showed "Errors: Wrong first Material (tried english and german version: Iron/Eisen), lets see if i can get this together here: Checked "Read first!" - Done Checked FAQ - Done, no mentioning. Checked for existing Bug Report and Game Version - Done, newest build, and couldnt find anything related in the Subfforum, neither manually nor with Search. "Is it really a bug?" - Uhm, i think so? What makes a bug a bug? Include crash details - No crash2desk happened! Clear Description, Specs and stuff - Lets bring in the filled form i couldnt submit here: ------------------------ Bug Type: Unexpected Behavior Game Type: Main Game (STEAM) Game Version: Beta 0.11 r7857 Brief Description: Controls freeze after jumping through Gate Detailed Description: Basically any time you jump through a gate with a Movement key still pressed it keeps this information and will think you keep pressing the button in the next sector, even if not, confirmed with all directional keys and spacebar for boost. Workaround would be pressing and releasing the representative button again, so it goes back to normal behaviour. Tho i admit i am not entirly sure if this behavior comes from cheap equipment i use (thinking about keyboard/mouse here), but since its reproduceable i thought i mention it here... Since no crash happend i dont think logs are needed? added the latest ones i could find anyways... What did you expect to happen(optional)? After loading screen the ship should sit in front of the gate, not moving until movement keys are pressed! Exact Steps to reproduce: - Position yourself in front of a gate so its on your left (for example, works with all directions+spacebar) - Strafe left into the Gate, keep the button pressed until you jump (would be the same for forwards/backwards) - wait for loading screen (you can release the button now) - see your ship still strafing left - (since holding spacebar is for boosting, you can only see the effect of spacebar when pressing W for forward, will boost without holding spacebar (since it "thinks" you still keep holding it)) Client Logfile: https://pastebin.com/AS6DR1bn Server Logfile: https://pastebin.com/catF8iCE (both latest, but unrelated i think?) System Specs: OS: Win 7 x64 CPU: AuthenticAMD 8 Cores RAM: 16GB GPU: NVIDIA Corporation GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 OpenGL Version: 4.5 Whats the first material in Avorion: Iron, isnt it?? ------------------------ EDIT: Just noticed the same behavior with the camera if you hold CTRL while jumping! Another EDIT: Solved! Thx alot...
  24. Ladys, Gentlemen and asexual Visitors, FDI proudly presents: Red-Rocket...erm, no, Red-1 by Keen Software House! Red-1 by KSH "Its ugly, its slow, sluggish and armored with tin foil, why would one use such a thing?" "It crashes nicely?" - Unknown Created by request, FDI presents its latest addition to its range of products: Space Engineers Iconic Vessel iself, Red-1, better known as "Big Red"! [spoiler=Pic with Stats] Price: 82.266 Cr. + 19.784 Iron Red-1.xml A closer look at the Hangar(-ish, there is no Hangar at Iron Tier i fear... :-\ ) Area: [spoiler=Flyby] Lets go on with Blue-1... Oh, and yes, i also recomment strongly to get your hands on some Titanium ASAP! EDIT: This one was alot easier compared to BigRed! Same scale, so abit smaller than the other one... To prevent doublepost, here you go again: Ladys, Gentlemen and asexual Visitors, FDI proudly presents: Tadpole... nah, joking, Blue-1 by Keen Software House! Blue-1 by KSH "What do you mean with 'red goes fasta'? It does not!" - Unknown In addition to the iconic Red-1, FDI recently announced to be able to deliver Blue-1 aswell in a KSH SE Startup Bundle, now available at the Shipyard of your choice! [spoiler=Pic with Stats] Price: 30.320 Cr. + 8.112 Iron Blue-1.xml Same as for Red-1 goes for this one, the sooner you get some Titanium, the better... thb i would never bother to actually make such big ships for Iron-Tier in Survival... but heh, requested, and delivered, hf and gl with those! ^,.,^ Anything else? Copied alot of SE Vessles into Avorion, sadly i only got the pics left which i putted online since my HDD broke, for example Hyperion Systems' Snow Leopard Attack Corvette: ... or WMI's Paperboy Kinetic Torpedo FAC: ... or big chunks of the whole Ares Combat Industries Fleet, which i adapted for my own project here in Avorion (Click me hard! to get into Fox' Lair...) Another EDIT: Could it be the original name is "Blue-2", not "Blue-1"? Anyways, too lazy to change that on all the pics, texts and .xml's ...
  25. Lots of things happening, and nice to see how stuff gets on its way... ty 4 the keeping us up to date! Fascinating read! Not that i can say i have lots of knowledge in programming ("Hello World!"-esque), but getting a glimpse on what exactly is happening behind the scenes of pretty pics and helpful Interfaces was very interesting, good to hear the (from my Point of View) hardest part is comming along! \o/ I'd say yes, Mission accomplished, effort much appreciated! Cant speak for others, but at least me had a good time reading 8) Cheers & keep up the nice work, Devs! EDIT: +1
