I don't know anyone who plays Avorion to test it, but if it helps I was playing on beta 0.10.3 r7509.

If you equip a ship system (any kind) after you press the warp key (spacebar) and before the loading screen, the game will crash. I started a new game to make sure it wasn't the save and it still happened.
