  1. One way to post the pics is to use an online picture source that you may upload to. Imagur is pretty good, though there are many to choose from
  2. Hmm, Excel seemed to help calculate this ... I found an explored zone ... I hope to remember to post here again once I find him. Thanx TheDamnGod, cheers. :)
  3. This was my first ever ship, of any intentional design. At the time, I was really enjoying the game, was a total newb, but I wanted something big (yeah, i know - its small, but at the time it "seemed" big, lol :-[). Turns out, this design has a few esthetic flaws, is too expensive to be called a starter ship - and its kinda crappy cuz it has no shield. But, if i was ever to restart, this ship is a nice stepping stone to something larger, and more expensive. And yeah, that includes a dang shield. But at less than 235,000 Units, its not a bad price, and only 35000 Titanium. (All stats are listed in last photo - and you can see the prices were also captured in the screenshot) Arrius (renamed from Exeter) Stats for Arrius- you can see the costs in the screen too Cheers ;)
  4. For an early game Starter Ship, a Scout or a fast Late Game Miner Buddy ... Part of my plan, was to "just" reach the 4th Slot. ;) Argento I tried to keep the titanium down, and the iron up. The intent here was for a relatively efficient starter. The cash cost is more than I was hoping for, but the esthetics are what cost the most i think. As well, it is built for speed, as you will see. (by the way ... how do I do the SPOILER thing? Do most of you appreciate the spoiler option??) (Yay, someone shared, see lower down in thread). Argento, stats (no items) Not sure yet how to post the xml, though I am willing to ...
  5. Hey :) I am trying Inkscape now. Thanx for the tip. By the way, in my Creations thread, i posted a pic of the colour coding, before i put the armour on. This step is not necessary for everyone, but if someone is still sorting your design options, the colours make for easy editing and adjustment. http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2539.msg13054.html#msg13054
  6. Pretty cool. I am trying to figure out the name of this one you posted ... :)
  7. Yup ... was in the process of doing just that Thanx Zajc, cheers :)
  8. Hi Zajc I just got back from holidays and am resetting my posts ... And I was about to give credit to your fantastic works. As Zajc pointed out, the original statue is from his Emperor class ship http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1527.0.html I made a few changes in his design to fit the lit situ for my shaded spot on some of my ships Cheers
  9. I posted two of my inspirational sources in my Creations thread The Stadtvogel and the Jackal http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php?topic=2539.msg13053#msg13051
  10. Hi there ... By "functional" ... are you referring to the features and utility of the ship(s)?
  11. Hey Fox, i enjoyed seeing the progression in some of your ships - the spinning images post is a cool idea. Thanx, and i hope you keep posting Cheers
  12. I have seven (7) ships in the works, which were all inspired by the Stahlvogel (eve online). So far, i have only posted one ship design - The Aegoran. I will post the Stahlvogel pic in my ship design thread tomorrow. Cheers
  13. Heya Tech I think you may find that Titanium is a big step up from Iron. Lighter with more HP, able to generate power, etc. With Naonite you can do shields and extend your sector jump range.
  14. I second the idea ... If i may, let me call it a Marking Beacon. With a Marking Beacon system, it could possible work this way 1. With that C43 Find Object thing, or 2. Have a separate slot upgrade item for personal beacons. So, if i understand your idea, you would physically "mark" an item with a beacon device - then off you go to fight pirates or whatever. Like other space junk, i wonder if the beacon would then Dissapear after the 30 minute refresh - or is it 60 minutes? In any case, it could possibly make for another interesting approach in game.
  15. I too play my games with 100% Collision Damage. But ... I spent an hour or so in "Creative" to learn "how to collide" and methods to avoid death in a pinch. Actually, that time in Creative, of driving into stuff was kinda fun - and has since save my ship in a real game. Apart from that, my ship designs now incorporate my lessons learned from all those collisions. Lol
  16. "03" Cool. I enjoy the detailing on your ships
  17. In my view, if you enjoy playing your designs, great !! Keep building. If you come into the forums and steal ideas and improve on them or expand on these ideas, Great !! If you take the time, and have the courage to share your designs, good on ya!! In my book, you are a contributor Cheers 8)
  18. Thanx Ohm. And i am finding that, yes indeed, as i am getting into the larger ship-builds (finally), i have down-graded by desire for higher pitch yaw and roll. Still, with all my guns in the "frontal arc" to achieve concentrated fire, i enjoy being able to swing around to kill that pirate shooting at my engines after i just killed his wingman. Fun game !! Great discussion (thank you, everyone :) ) Cheers
  19. How do i ensure i am using the Stable Version? And which is the beta (I know ... Dumb question - but i honestly dont know). Thanx :)
  20. Hey Pob I appreciate your timely questions and that you shared what you learned so far. Once I hit the Trinium, and I get to launch my new build (and if someone has not already answered your questions), I will share what i find out. Good luck :)
  21. One tip - Each time you kill off an invading swarm, yup, you get a little bonus from the local friendlies - which is good because you will get better prices for buying and selling from them, And lower costs when using teleport gates. As well, the local will Pay You for killing off their enemies. What to do? One big goal is to make it to the centre ... But in my own gameplay, if i ever restart, i would like to make it to the core without ever dying - bigger challenge on higher difficulty, bigger still if you put collision damage to 100%.
  22. Trouble is ... With any math ... When putting less than 5 in, you can get the same back, meaning no upgrade in rarity. I dunno. In my gameplay, i am not eager to make "more" money. I am interested in getting Exotic and Legendary items as soon as possible. To me, common, uncommon (etc) items are a direct path to the best items. If i want money, i will scan for sellable asteroids, or do missions or trade. I care about money only as far as it pays for my crew and can upgrade my ships.
  23. Ditto. I too like your sleek designs. 8)
  24. Just one suggestion (a great list by the way :) ): Perhaps "Scout / Recon" between Shuttle and Gunboat? Cheers
  25. I searched the forums and did not hit on any discussion on Pitch, Yaw & Roll optimization. To start off the conversation, i'd just like to mention my "build goal". For a fresh build, i usually strive for: Pitch: 2.0 Yaw: 2.0 Roll: 2.0 What about you? Would also like to hear your ideas for Thruster placement. Cheers
