  1. Hi, you need to do two things: [*]Find out your external IP address (careful here, on normal DSL lines it changes every day) [*]Configure your router to forward traffic to port 27000 directly to your home PCs port 27000 The first is easy: go to a website like https://www.whatismyip.com and see it ;) The second depends on your router and your internet line. There are countless tutorials in the interwebs for "port forwarding" for every router in existence, so just search for "port forwarding <your router name here>" and you should find something. It also depends on the internet line because there are lines that use a shared IP address for many users, so if it doesn't work despite the port forwarding it might be this problem and you can call your provider and ask them if you have a shared IP or a public accessible one. If your friends can connect and you want to get rid of the new IP problem every day look for dynamic DNS providers. There are many and also many free ones and then you get a domain you can give your friends and the PC or the router do the update automagically. Other options for having a game server for friends is using a provider for this, they are not that expensive and take away all the pesky setup, and using a public server, which are spawning up like zombies in minecraft at night ;)
  2. Hi Koonschi, I have a similar problem. I copied the steamclient.so into the bin directory and where the server is started (where the server.sh is, currently manual in a screen session).
  3. Good point freelikegnu, Perhaps it could be even made possible for modders to create texture packs which can be installed. For easier coding it could even be restricted to a special "Texture Block" we can put on existing blocks, so that these don't need to be changed in any way. Suddenly adding custom textures to all blocks could be a programmatic nightmare depending on how it is coded until now.
  4. Hihi It actually is meant as a Borg Cube, and I'm planning on putting the "decoration" on it via either custom textures (see suggestions thread) or by hand with little "tubes" and "blobs".
  5. I just tried the beta channel (should have done that before) and there it is waaaay better (or should I say more realistic?) I'm gonna have to relearn flying my brick :D Sorry to bother
  6. Hi, I don't know if this is a bug or by design. To me the momentum calculation seems to be off. How to reproduce: - Accelerate in one direction - stop forward thrust - turn around - accelerate in new direction (pointing where you just came from) What happens: You do a little "jerk" to one side (depending the exact direction you are facing) and suddenly are at the same speed as before (turning around) just facing the new direction. This works in every direction, but turning around a full 180° makes the behavior clear. What should happen: You should slow to a near stop and then accelerate from there. Right now this behavior feels like cheating because you can make maneuvers (strafe runs on enemies) much faster than it should be possible and last second course corrections that'd break any inertial dampening systems for the passengers ;) I do have to admit it saved me a few times already :D
  7. Hi, I would like to have custom textures on my ships. It would open up a big area of design possibilities and make this already awesome game even better :) Of course the textures should be restricted in size and perhaps also amount per player (looking at servers here). LG Surrogard
