  1. Hey friend, I think 60k is great but I also think the faction system via faction wars is wrong. I opened up temporarydefender.lua and found that they give 85k? just to side with someone meaning that you can get well past friendly instantly. So what I'm thinking of doing is setting mine to about 25k instead. Not sure how bad that will go since I can't really script and I'm pretty sure that replaces the rep rather then gives 25k meaning that if I had 30k with them it will reset. But either way it seems better then having instant friendly. Any suggestions? Edit: Have you also found where the freq of missions are stored? I kind of find any at stations :) PS: I love to see more missions omg I'm hyped hehe.

  4. I'm a bit confused on this I assume the answer is you don't. I remember reading the logs the entire point of it was to stop people building ugly blocks but now it seems that is what is needed now again :( The idea of a real structural integrity field was cool but now it's not plausible unless you want to be weak period. Meaning it's time you lay your ship with a ton of armor plating on the outside because a few PvPer's whined :P

  7. This is more then likely a simple script fixed to prevent the signals going past 500.
  8. Might of found the issue: I ran out of space or I think I did. I had full logging enabled since was not working before. Since the update it was on. I just noticed after 20min checking logs it was up to 2gigs. It would actually make sense and why those files got corrupted due to lack of HD space. I turned off the trace now hehe.

  10. Got dozens of them going through them now thanks :) Don't have the original logs since you store only 10 and prune them and it was auto rebooting on a crash.

So you have 2 steamclient.so maybe one is 32 bit but as far as I know it's 64bit server period so I don't know why the steamclient.so in AvorionServer differs from the one in AvorionServer/linux64. Either way I always replace AvorionServer/steamclient.so from the one in AvorionServer/linux64/steamclient.so I feel like the linux64 one can be removed and moved to the root for good? Without this change it can't connect to steam networking.

  17. I agree with this to an extent. Maybe needing special rare say rare weapon parts that could be used to mix it up a bit.
  18. I think there is actually 2 issues here. 1) I think crafted weapons need more RNG to them for chance wise. Also there seems to be bugs with it I know my mate had issues seen others complain to about it. But I don't think they need much of a nerf outside that. 2) But I do think the drop RNG of weapons needs to actually be a bit higher then it is now. You can salvage and salvage and kill pirates all day and get next to nothing decent. I think it's more of a lack of balance for drops and this is play normal mode.
  19. That would really break balance. If it was setup more like Eve and has way more types sure but no it be breaking too much progression.

  21. Sorry about your issues. Right now there is a couple of issues being fixed in a patch tomorrow (hopefully). Crashes happen sometimes on the server and the saves don't correctly save at the right order. When this happens your ship and character are in unsycned locations. There is a big change your ship is fine but it might be ahead of where your character spawned or behind in another system. Sadly you will have to kind of play hide and seek since ships are saved in the systems.. This also caused ships to dupe as well.
  22. I don't think it's a bad idea to take some work people done and added it into the game and credit them. Of course communications with that person would be important but I bet a lot of people would be happy to have their mods added with small scripters credit on the game. That being said I'm confused on centralized site but these forums / steam is the best place. I normally create community forums / sites but if we need another section for mods and such the developer here can add it. Also Steam Workshop support is coming for mods. Having a third party site to get mods would only slowly break down that system and encourage chaos. Skyrim is a good example you can't get mods from one single site anymore same with even WoW addons some refuse to use site a and b and c etc.
  23. I been playing around with it. From what I can tell it can help add maybe another 2 systems on smaller ships but after that it seems to have almost no added effect. I was wondering if someone knows the ins and outs on how it exactly works outside of that. I kept try a bunch of scaling tests and it only seem effective on small builds.
