Hmm I just started to play this game recently and I can't complain about this. Slamming my ship with 2k+ m/s into an asteroid? I expect to blow up...in my case the surplus speed was enough to get my own small kessler syndrome going, bouncing around in the roid field, getting ground down to the core block --> lesson learned. :)
