  1. hi everyone :) wondering if it could be done with the same shader that is responsible for the shields, now i am no good at shaders( I have tried and failed many time), but this is me trying again lol. not sure if or how it can be done as i am only just learning LUA and also as i said not good at coding shaders (YET), but me and a friend was talking about how the shield shimmer every now and then looked a bit like the cloaking effect from a romulan ship and that sparked a long debate on weather it would work or not. So to the Question [*] Is it possible to edit the shader file/s to work with a key press to cloak/uncloak the players ship [*]Would it cause to much lag as the player moves under cloak [*]Would it need to be only server side so that other players who don't have the cloaking Module cant see your ship (like it was in Freelancer) now i know that the devs are thinking of putting a cloaking device into the game sometime in the future but would be nice to help out and see if we can make a stable one that might get the devs eye (high hopes ) :) i would love to hear everyones opinion on it and see if we can get one that works and then put it up here as a community built mod. Hi there 8) before i start i would like to say this isn't totally all my work it is based off Sether0 mod Universal System i just found that mod to be the one that i could get my head round so thanks Sether0 great scripts 8) . Here is a link to his mod go check it out http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,3214.0.html This module system was made to run on the Prophets of Rage server as we noticed that the module system for the ships (although excellent) was lacking a certain something :P so this is my attempt at that certain something lol. As the title says it's a module that has everything on it except for valocity/acceleration/mining/trading (as i am done with plowing my ships into asteroids that suddernly jump out in front of you), it comes in 7 flavors from Petty - Legendary each one has differant stats for the various things on it :- notice the number at the end of the name, thats how many turret slots it adds and that is radomly generated when the module spawns into the world/galaxy So basically every stat you see in the picture above is randomly generated on it's spawn in, except the depleation recharge. but there is a downside to it to try and balance it out abit and not be to cheaty it also takes into consideration the amount of turrets it has and the 50% shield recharge on depleation plus a bit of math(i think :P ) and then thats how much it will take to run the module in your ship (as a great man once said "With great power, comes great responsibility " ). What else This is my first time trying to mod Avorion and second time useing lua so please feel free to tell me where i have gone wrong as i am allways willing to learn more, When i say Random, that means as random as lua will allow, if not then again please feel free to tell/show me how to do it a better/faster way A thank you to EaszyTarget for telling me off when i go all overlord on the settings(if i had my way it would of considered all stats and then got the power requirements from that :) ) If you get one of these earlygame then at the moment the price is a lot op but i am working on getting it to have a good price but still think of the rarity and randomness of stats The prices for them now are alot more reasonable i think download link has been updated Tue, May 16 2017 Download https://www.dropbox.com/sh/meay6x7qzbfmdm3/AACoZytns6OlYt9uYoE8Ts-0a?dl=0 This has to be on both server and client Enjoy ;D and i hope it adds that certain something something to your game.
