  1. I just bought some Xanion fighters which is exciting because I don't even have a xanion mining drill yet. I actually took a screenshot of my hangar at the time: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/elasticbeanstalk-us-west-2-868470985522/ShareX/2017/01/Avorion_2017-01-28_15-16-53.jpg I have not even left the system yet and half of them just disappeared. No enemy ships were nearby. At one point I had only lost two, I pulled them all back to the ship. I got into my own mining drone and saw the ship started releasing fighters again (my ship has a captain and auto-mines). I got back in my ship immediately and told them to return. They didn't even get far away. But for some reason, only 5 of my 10 fighters are in my hangar. Zooming out to RTS mode, I can't see any nor highlight any. Pressing G to cycle through ships doesn't highlight any either. They seem to have just disappeared. Attached is my server log. I bought the fighers after the line: "Sat Jan 28 15:10:15 2017| <Equipment Dock> You don't have enough space in your hangar." I don't think this log will help though, there's not much info about what happened in it. clientlog_Sat_Jan_28_12-41-01_2017.txt
  2. I just got trinium and built a few hangars, excited to buy some mining drones. Several jumps later I still haven't found an equipment dock. I could backtrack to the iron systems which is the last time I've seen one. It would be cool, and useful, if you could talk to other ships and ask them for directions. I'm sure there's a lot of plans for further development of different factions. Some ideas for progression: Neutral: Give the location of a few nearby sectors that have establishments, though no specifics. Friendly: Be able to ask for location of the nearest station type (eg, equipment, military outpost, repair dock) Good: Give details about common stations in nearby sectors Admired: Larger range and also details about mining areas and perhaps trade routes / manufacturing stations
  3. You could try hosting a dedicated server via the bat file in the root directory, and add the flag: --use-steam-networking 0 Just a guess. It's an option explained on the wiki that seems to have fixed my bug about connection failing because it can't check the vac ban status (here).
  4. Since this thread is similar to the one I posted (here) I figured I should add my feedback just to help either of these topics get resolved. A friend of mine encountered a similar issue, but without the lag. Ship destroyed on warp. I think the lag may or may not be related. For us, he was connected to my own server, and I was running a dedicated server (on my own computer, even though that's not the point of a dedicated server). Also, if you haven't already, you can go to the options and disable the need to press spacebar to skip the loading screen. That could give you a few more milliseconds to act in case something is attacking you as you load in. Regardless of whatever bugs are involved, I agree that warp protection would be a good thing to have.
  5. I should have done that in the first place. I just checked but I don't have it anymore. Probably because I reinstalled the game and the bug that happened on is gone. I'll post it if it happens again. I reinstalled and did a bunch of things to fix the VAC error I mentioned before. None made it go away, but I found out the error is just random and works sometimes. I'll post a log next time it happens. Which hopefully it doesn't. I don't think that's the case. For me, I didn't even warp. I was in a friendly system at the time. But mine seemed to be related to the server crashing. My friend could have died instantly to pirates. But the game loads so quickly, I just don't believe that's the case. Yeah I did a bunch of troubleshooting. I was trying to get multiplayer to work again, and my friend was having no issues. Empyrion Galactic Survival was working fine. Note that I had trouble connecting in singleplayer, too. Whether or not there was a server down, it shouldn't affect singleplayer.
  6. I guess that makes sense. Although I still don't think it gave me the credits (only the iron/titanium) for my ship. But I'll assume it did and I'm just an idiot until I run into the problem again. Thanks for explaining the insurance system to me. It didn't really make sense.
  7. Maybe related or not, but now I'm getting an error "Unable to check VAC ban status". Even when playing single player. I'm not vac banned or anything. Just reinstalled on a different harddrive, going to see if it works out. Edit: No, reinstalling the game and rebooting computer did nothing. This game really isn't playable in multiplayer I guess. https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/elasticbeanstalk-us-west-2-868470985522/ShareX/2017/01/Avorion_2017-01-24_20-42-38.jpg Edit: Day 3 of playing Avorion. Had it working last night. It's giving me the VAC ban error again. Edit: Right after my last edit I launched the dedicated server using server.bat in the install directory. I added the flag: --use-steam-networking 0. This seemed to work, for now, though I'm not sure if that made any difference or if the issue just went away temporarily again.
  8. I tried multiplayer for the first time today. We jumped around and gathered about 2500 titanium. I built a ship, killed some pirates, got some money. Things were just starting to get interesting. Then my ship couldn't turn, about 30 seconds of frustratingly pressing buttons trying to find out why it wouldn't turn, I got disconnected. So did my friend. I was hosting a dedicated server, on my own computer. It was working fine until that point. Then I logged back in, in my drone. I still had my credits, but I lost my ship. Lost all turrets except a single gatling turret. My friend still had his ship, but all his crew were gone. We thought maybe it was a fluke and kept playing. About 20 minutes later we were jumping to a new system. He reads off the "your ship was destroyed" message and that you spawned back at the base. Didn't get attacked or anything like that. So now we BOTH lost our ships, and BOTH teleported back to the beginning. Is this a known issue? Is there any way to prevent it? We both encountered a seriously game-breaking bug within 30 minutes of playing multiplayer, so I imagined this would be all over the bugs forum.
  9. I'd like to read all of the loading screen tips. Most of them have been interesting. As a new player, it would be nice to go through them. I'm not sure if they can be found in some file somewhere or in the forums (haven't found any yet) but they should go on the wiki in a list. Should be a pretty easy task as long as they aren't all saved as images with the background photos.
  10. I wanted to redesign my ship from the ground up. So I went into build mode, put a huge crew cabin at the front, used the group select tool (making sure I did not select the crew cabin), disabled safe mode, and deleted everything. But it said my ship was destroyed. I did get the titanium back. But not the funds. And my insurance message came through, only giving me $54. I had it fully insured, and it must have been worth $50,000 or more at that point! I see a few problems here: 1. I realize that "safe mode" is meant to prevent this. But I *wanted* to rebuild my ship. And the funds that just mysteriously vanished should have been fixed. It wasn't being destroyed. At the very least deleting your ship in build mode instead of saying you were destroyed, should ask if you want to sell your ship and then put you in your drone. Why did it count as getting destroyed, and why did I not get the refund for blocks being deleted AND did not get the money back from insurance? 2. Maybe I haven't found a better way, but there doesn't seem to be a good way to build a new ship from the ground up. I also often run into pirates/allen ships entering the sector while I'm building and not ready for combat. The shipyards would be a good place to offer a "protected build mode" where you build inside a hangar, worry-free of pirates. This is a combination bug report and suggestion, hopefully this works. Let me know if you need more info.
