Getting pretty fed up with this, allegedly on one of the last updates the ships were made "invulnerable" during the "Press Space..." screen, BUT
- When playing online (server has been running and in use since Feb without problems, is updated as soon as new update is available, clients updated as soon as update available) and jumping to a sector which has many asteroids / and/or other faction ships/xsotan/pirates
-- Load time is excessively long (multiple minutes with UDP packets/s around 500 - 800 and UDP overhead at 89-92 %)
-- during the "Press Space..." load screen damage sounds are heard
-- Pressing Space usually does not immediately remove the load screen (pressing multiple times / or a delay of 1-4s shows the screen)
-- on showing the sector the ship is damaged, and before any other interaction can take place the message appears that the ship was destroyed
This has occurred multiple times recently and load times for populated sectors seems to have increased (appears proportional, higher population = longer loading time). Empty sectors load instantly and pressing space immediately removes the load screen.
During loading the map screen shows the ship at the new sector, so it would appear that the ship is first being placed in the new sector, then being allowed to be attacked during the long load time.
Please fix this, it is highly annoying to lose expensive ships, and is far more fun playing with friends online (well, apart from needing to avoid busy sectors)
