  1. My main application of thrusters is to apply directional thrust, perhaps it would be viable to add thrusters that give a greater thrust but only in one direction, so they could be applied where needed instead of covering the whole ship to get good directional thrust.
  2. I think what he meant was to use the big resource bearing nugs the same way as the normal big asteroids are used now, once the mine is founded the total amount of resources gatherable becomes infinite. Good suggestion :)
  3. One solution for the crew problem would be to scale them with distance to the core, someone already wrote a mod for this and it really helps out later on with big ships.

  5. Sometimes it happens that a player stays connected to the server, as a ghost, while they already signed off. They are only able to connect again after they are kicked or the server is restarted.   6. I've been getting these errors frequently for a while now, read an earlier bug report about it but since then nothing happened so I'm reporting it again.     0.10.3?

    Version 10.3 is currently the beta version, to install this update you have to go your Steam Library > Avorion > Preferences and there you will find the option to select the beta-branch in a dropdown menu on the last tab. After selecting this the game will update itself if it isn't running ;)
  9. Nice, I was using the sector overview mod for this but since you can see them most of the time this will save even more effort :D

  11. Today we hit a record on our server, we had 24 players online and the server was handling pretty well according to the players. I wasn't there myself to see how everything was doing but if the performance stays up I will increase the slots.   13. Sorry understood your post incorrectly and indeed the mod MiningCorp can do such a thing. I did read earlier today that there are some issues with his mod not giving resources but I'm sure he will fix that soon.
  14. Thanks for looking into this, was about to report it as a bug/suggestion after I found out you can only transfer one per click. Being able to input increments yourself would be very useful but I guess that would take some extensive modding and could better be implemented through the game itself. Didn't read well enough but I guess stations also transfer all available if you don't meet the quantity if set to 1000 for example.
  15. There is a mod that bypasses the docking ports and allows you to dock from 0.3km away of the center of the station. I found it very useful, especially with big ships since it can be quite time consuming to actually port to a dock. http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1114.0.html If you own the station yourself, you can try placing the docking ports further away from the center of mass or other objects nearby and they will show up but I figure that doesn't apply to this situation.
  16. Buying a ship at the shipyard with the highest volume and dimension settings still gave me a small factory, not sure what is involved for them to be categorised as a medium or large factory. Upping the storage/volume after that didn't work either. I read somewhere that if you build your station in a system that has warp gates, NPC ships will be able to dock to your station, if you have a docking port that is.
  17. Same here, spammed a few resized needlepoints around my ship and covered it all in armor. Spammed it a little too much, I was able to strafe and brake with 700 m/s xD Now it's just a brick in space with 23 m/s brake thrust :(
  18. Did you add the actual script to your files? Check your logs for any errors, that should give more information.

To answer the OP: I haven't tested it fully but since it's a deminishing factor, setting this to a lower amount will probably extend the time.
  20. I like the changes you made, it looks a lot better now! Will give it a try now you fixed the issue with the equipment docks.
  21. The whole process of making the turrets yourself is a bit tedious, since you have to know where to buy the required components. What I did to make it myself easier was to list all the needed components for the turrets I wanted so you can quickly see if a sector is selling the components you need with a trading module. If you also want to get into trading and building stations, now would be the time to make a spreadsheet where you keep track of all good trades in a sector and also if they have a decent stock of goods you might need later on.
  22. NPC's sometimes have awfully good aim, and if your weapons are close to the center of mass they can shoot them off easily. What I did untill I had shields was to place a block of armor covering the foot of the turrets, this seemed to help a lot. By changing the scale of the block you can use a height that covers most of the turret while it is still able to aim above it.
