  2. Just found out with another player that you can select the material type in the top bar, but applying efficient designs with different types of materials won't be possible for now.
  3. When you copy+paste a structure into the area for templates and later select it, the material type is not saved so it turns into iron. How to reproduce: - Build something out of higher material than iron and select it - Copy paste that into the building inventory - Select template from building inventory and copy it - Paste onto other ship You will see that it turns into iron instead of the used materials before saving to the building inventory.

  6. Yep the pathfinding AI isn't very advanced yet, they continously crash into docking ports as well without taking precautions that others might be using the same paths as well.

  9. Something similar perhaps is that you can hit F2 to switch to ship steering, with which you will be able to look around while going in one direction. Use Z,X,C & V to accelerate or slow down your ship, it's sort of like cruise control.
  10. Yeah, or for them to only spawn the resource that is available in that sector, so that it wouldn't be possible to get all the good farms right away.
  11. Did you try it and got an error? -->pls send me an private message with a link to the logfile. If not: everyone who has tried (and succeded or failed -yes either) pls send me such a logfile. I still didn't get any logfile from any linux users. And I don't want to declare my mod stable before i had a glance at such a log. Just to make sure it works as intended. I didn't try to install as the directory structure doesn't match up. My directory structure is / home / avorion / .avorion / galaxies / GalaxyName / with factions, players, sectors as directories under GalaxyName. That is the folder where the server stores it's data, the folder you want to be looking for is the folder where Avorion itself is installed. For windows this is either the path you gave up in SteamCMD or in the Steamapps folder, not sure for Linux but it should be something similar. Once you find that folder you will find a folder named Data within it the folder Scripts, where you need to move the files over from mods. Note that server.lua is also used for other mods so if you use those you can better paste the new code in.
  12. Looks good! Is the price the same for every resource type or is there a difference between the different resources?

One odd thing I noticed after making these changes is that when putting in more materials at turret factories or upgrade factories is that the stats go down, while it seems to me that they should go up when you put more materials in them. Might be just a coïncidence but I didn't notice it before :p

The developer is working hard on the mod, and from what I understand from it, but haven't tested myself, is that when you build a station with a warp gate in the sector it will also bring npc ships to trade with the stations. I will ask him if it would be possible but for now his mod does a pretty decent job at generating income through stations and mines, it also works on shipyards building ships. In his latest version he also added the feature to transport asteroids to another sector by paying 500.000 credits, which is pretty handy if you want to set up a complete factory line in one system. There are still a few minor bugs but he has been able to fix them the moment he read my logs so it's looking pretty good :)
  16. Our server is modded and has as you already know the features you are looking for, it has been wiped fresh today to get rid of the initial problems and it looks to be a lot more stable now everything is configured correctly :)
  17. Make sure to have --use-steam-networking 1 in your server start script, the normal protocol is very unstable. I had players getting 500-15k ping without it, seems like DDoS but isn't.

  19. The out of sector production mod runs fine on singleplayer, on multiplayer there are still a few kinks that needs to be worked out but nothing harmful. He is working on some nice features too, one of them the ability to move asteroids to other sectors to group mines together. The plugin isn't that much on performance, it only needs a few bugfixes and then it'll run smooth.
  20. Due to the crashes not resolving we have wiped our server, and it seems to be a lot more stable now. I have also updated the main post of this thread with all the current mods, and also included a bundle that you can download that will install all the needed client mods at once!   21. The problem related to players with high ping seemed to be that steam authentication wasn't enabled, but that didn't help much with the crashes either. Looks like only way to fix it is a clean install, will try that. Edit; Made a fresh install and everything seems to run a lot smoother now, guess all those crashes corrupted some data :(
  22. Sweet will give it a try :) Is it possible to move asteroids over multiple sectors or just one?

I haven't been able to narrow down on the cause of the crashes where the errors show on AvorionServer.exe but the server trying to open another instance is probably the restart batch script that I have scheduled to run since the server crashes so often and I'm not able to be there 24/7 to restart it, I will try to smoothen out that script so it won't try to open another instance while one server is already running.

  25. Not all players will download it straight away so would normal mining still work if this isn't installed on the client?
