  3. The thing is, ok for iron and titanium, that works fine cause iron is the worst metal on every aspect. On the other hand it's not that easy once you have Avorion, Trinium and Ogonuim. If you upgrade your whole ship from trinium to ogorium you change an agile ship into a tank that can't move, and Avorion don't have heavy armor. I would prefer a feature to ask you to upgrade all blocks of a kind to another. For exemple "Upgrade all Titanium edge to Naonite" that would simplify the upgrade process without making you end in strange things.
  4. You do have NPC traders but they are not many of it and since the sector is frozen when you are not in, i think they work only when you are around.

Heyas, I have been looking for the boss lately and was a bit in trouble to make them appear and then having to manualy calculate the distance from the core again and again to be sure i'm in range bored me a bit, so i used Aki's command mods to make my own really simple one that would display it to player. So thanks to him for the original sethome script i took as model Files : data\scripts\player\cmd\disttocore.lua data\scripts\commands\disttocore.lua
  6. With the new patch in beta you should be able to put your script in the sector.lua so it won't affect other scripts, thus making it more compatible with other mods.
  7. Hi, I'm trying to make the missions in the game and craft a few guns. As it's quite long i went for a large cargo bay on my ship. Now i'm looking for energy inverter for the smuggler, the only thing i need to complete this part but i can't buy it. Each time i do from a station, it says i bought it, i get the reputation up, the money go down, but i don't have anything in my ship cargo. I have plenty of space left (642) but the page is full and there is no scroll bar. When i look at the horizontal bar resuming what takes space, my last few purchases are missing and seem to be lost. So it seem that you are limited to 15 different goods, but nothing warn you so it look like a bug.

  9. I don't know what is confusing you here. If you look at RL, for tanks or ships it's already the case. You have medium french tanks bigger than german heavy, heavy that are faster than meds, and russian VCB with missiles and heavy canons. For Ships it's pretty much the same, with US cruiser the size of French or Japaneese Battleships. This classification was more for roles and mass than for size. You can have pretty compacts designs while on the other hand you have bigger with many redundancy but in the end sharing the exact same role. I'll add, look at the carriers World Wide on the sea. Compare the Russian, the many US, Brasil and French, the size vary a lot (US:333m - France:261m, it's 22% difference.). The easiest way is simply to give the size when you share your ship, cause even with a classification, you will never know what is it's heights, width and long with a single word. And this is pretty important here cause you can make bricks, long sticks or even flat alien space ship.
  10. My bad, as it was always shadowed i didn't even seen it. And it should be placed below the text and not above. And by the way no need to be harsh like this. You are the same kind of people than on FTD forum bashing people for nothing and in the end arming the game to not see when something isn't quite intuitive. You are told about a check point and there is none visible, this quite confusing. anyway thank you for the answer even if the form totally sucks.
  11. Got an issue with this quest too, the first one. I'm on the beta branch. So i talked to a smuggler he asked me to deliver something somewhere ... And what the my, i don't know where to go nor have any clue about it. See : How are you supposed to success the quest with this kind of hint. In the dialogue he talked about a check point, but i have none, i really don't know where to go at all.
  12. I prefer adpting to the univers we are in. And in avorion so far i have seen Corvettes, Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers and Dreadnoughts. I don't feel that you need more to define more category as you can mix them already with their role. I mean, ou can have an "anti-fighter frigate" or a "carrier frigate" or even a "multi-role frigate", really don't see what's the issue and what is boring you. And once again, the game already handle this, simply loo, at the NPC's ships they have this kind of classification for the size, the role is up to you. The real only issue is what the game define to be a cruiser. (i think it's more related to number of upgrade slots than directly size or mass) Edit: I'll add that you can't do fighters in this game, as every ship need at least 4 men in a crew, and if you want to have at least 2 guns (The minimum to me) you need at least 6 crew men, that would be definatly the corvette size ship.
  13. Hi, It's been a while now i am trying to craft some weapons and get bored again and again by friendly ships asking me to drop my explosives charges, roquets and so on. I looked around for the said license and could find it nowhere. I know people will say, ignore and jump blabla. That's true and is untrue. I'm trying to craft my turrets on the Church Louokukq and for some reason my reputation droped so that i can't craft the things anymore. So i waited a little bit for an alien attack and went in to raise my reputation. In the middle of the fight, a cruiser had better to scan my cargo than actually defending it's system and start to bore me, i ignored him and get -63K reputation ... So i killed as many alien ships as possible to raise it again and in the end i lost more rep than i won, in fact it was /2. Now i'm not even friendly anymore. That's being a bit ridiculous to this point. Stuff are a pain to get and your reputation drop like hell simply for transporting it. It could not be an issue if there was actually a license, i would gladly pay it, but there's not. So you have things legals but not totally legal to trade, that's really a bit weird. A small edit : And i forgot to speak about the little event! So you are fighting an invasion, then, the local ship start to speak to you, spining your ship towards him, making you quite vulnerable, during this time you can't do anything, nor shot nor dodge, have to skip the many dialogs as fast as possible, and then he is locked!! So if you have missiles on your ship that's a total mess cause he will take a salvo, and you have to reselect the enemy. I don't know if it's intended but at this point, the whole feature to me look totally broken and should be desactivated. Basically actually, you kill 3 merchants ships in a sector, then you can kill pirates and all will go up again in the friendly state. Transport explosives charges, you will be treated the same but will never be able to bring your reputation back as long as you have the good in your bay. There is something wrong in the priority.
  14. Same issue here, what is fun is that i can't take gates (but i fit in them easily with my ship) but i can take the wormholes with no issues.
  15. The Ammo managing was a mess in X3 ans the reason why eveyone used energy weapon, even if ammo guns were more powerfull. You have to keep in mind managing ammos will not be only for your ship but for the whole fleet and NPCs, and will saturate the game with a lot of things to handle for nothing at all. I mean, what is the interrest in term of gameplay for this. It's near 0 and will make much troubles on many aspects of the game.
  16. Well i'll answer only for the first few points. I'm no mining at all, i salvage and this work pretty well. I find it smoother as you don't have to do long farming perdiods but only fight salvage what you killed and progress a bit more. The game is not like Eve and even less like Elite dangerous, even if they shares a few things. This game, to me, is the direct successor of X3 Terran Conflict, where the goal is to build your fleet/empire and don't rely on flying a single ship. This said, it's still in early stage with OOS not implemented trade in alpha and lot of things like that. So many of what you suggest, would simply break completely the game right now. I mean, ok you want ressources to take space if i understand well. How are you supposed to play at all with this? You wouldn't be able to build anything serious to fight. Most of the things you are poiting, to me, are simply cause the game is in beta (and even alpha on a few things). For the rest, well, again it's more a X3 like than a Eve MMO game.
  17. Hi, I finally crafted a few missiles launchers with the seeker feature, and was a bit desapointed of how it was working. They are independants, cause i was hoping to mount them as side turrets but had a lot of troubles cause they were only shooting at my target and not their own, ending in most of the time friendly fire. Yes, you select something, like a ship of your fleet to give him order, but the turret shot at an enemy and boom, you lost your allied ship, you clic on a friendly station, same thing. So i was a bit sad about it, cause it took me quite some time to get them and i wanted to recycle them, in strategic defences on my stations/mines. And here is even worst. In my test i got in my station, tried the thing, all was fine, then i select my ship and get back inside it, waiting for an enemy to show up and. Alright the station fired a volley of missiles blowing my ship and me with it. I imagine it remembered who i selected and shot at me ... Not selecting the enemies at all. I came back, checked nobody was selected and waited again, but this time the station don't even fired at all. So i don't know what i'm doing wrong, what is wrong and how i'm supposed to use them correctly, but at this point, it's more a pain than anything, it costed quite a lot to get only friendly fires so far >.<
  18. Heyas, I tried a lot of game a bit like this one recently, Robocraft, FTD, space engeneers and i must say this one is the best so far. It's complexe without being complicated, have lot of choice without being totally unbalanced at least so far. I really like it and looks promising. Anyway i post a few things as a newbie to the game, and before getting to used to it. The first is about exploring, it's really nice and the universe is huge but, when you find an asteroide, if you claim it for later to build a mine, the chances are you will never find it again. Of course i put a little not on the galaxy map to remember the sector, but once you jump in, the asteroide is totally invisible again, as if you never claimed it. Worst, the detector don't work anymore on it as it is claimed. It should really appear the color of the player. This directly lead to the second thing. The colors of NPC and players. If you do play X3 (and i'm pretty sure you did ^^) you have a special color for your own assets, preventing you from searching for it all the time. Here it's not. Your stuff is green the exact same color as your allies, making a mess when you want to select something. The strategic map as the same issues, when you zoom out you only see players and NPC ships and this is nice, but when you try to clic, if you have asteroides in the way, you will select them, forcing you to use area select even to clic a single ship. And finally the last one thing, all the guns are turrets in this game, and you have a gun to fix them in one direction. I think it would be better to have "main guns" bigger guns that are fixed in a direction making you use facing attacks or broadside. One last little thing is about thrusters, i find them really weak, and act a bit strange, you pack them all together and if you want some armor on them it's a bit of a mess. Was wondering if it wasn't a btter idea to make 2 version, one multi directionnal like the ones actual and one that is single direction but more powerful, allowing to put some armor around it.     No docks

    Got it a lot too, and another issue with docks. Sometime they appear like 8 km away from a station, while sometime i ram the station before they finally appears. Really strange, maybe something to do with threading, don't know if anyone have it too. And for the no dock, i guess there is no way to fixe it, like a console option to add a dock to the station?
  20. Is there a way to know what path to take? This happens while i was exploring, and i don't remember where i was exactly. Since i'm in drone now, and my ship had a 15 sector jump range it's almost a gameover here, i won't be able to find where is supposed to be the ship if i don't know the coordonates. PS: I'll add, i can't even get out from the sectors i am stuck in. As my range as droped to 2, i need a lot of jumps to go back somewhere out of pirates space and multipliing jumps end in a crash. So basicaly, even if i try to find my ship again i can't. The game is totally screwed on this server for me. Friends have the same issues and start to stop the game cause losing their assets again and again is really a big issue. Having crash, ok this happens, i can understand. But how is it possible to loose it's assets like this? To loose the ship you are flying? There are issues with unsynchronized save games here that are cripling the whole thing and will make issues in the futur even if the crashes are solved.
