Suggestion

Passenger Transportation

For those vessels with excess crew storage, One could transport passengers from one sector to another nearby sector for a little extra income.

Firstly the Passengers should request where to go, the player should offer to transport passengers to a known location, the game then gives a random number of passengers relative to the destination.

Eg, few passengers would go to mines, Many would go to habitats, casinos, etc.

To expand on the idea of Passenger transportation, One could specialize in 'luxury' passenger transportation.

This would likely involve a custom passenger quarters, Less crew density than crew quarters, however the player would need to employ service staff (chefs, Stewards etc)

These passengers would request a destination, however they would pay significantly more than normal passengers.

Ship Advertising

the ability to place either custom sized or predefined advertising panels on the outside of a vessel that has a selection of advertising gifs on display.

This would suite trade ships and the the sort, and act as a form of income, generally just to offset the crew costs.

Respawn Blocks

With the advent of being able to fly fighters I found my self desiring to fly with a small fleet into battle, HOWEVER due to the fragility of fighters and the spawn mechanic I don't fly the fighters in combat due to the issue of death and re-spawning 150+ sectors away.

The ability to place a re-spawn pad on a vessel would allow a player to re-spawn into that ship upon death, the nearest re-spawn pad would be preferable if there is more than one, this would allow players to have a mother ship that sits back from the battle while a player participates in the battle with small gunships/fighters/disposable combat vessels.

Player ships docked in large Player Hangers

What I mean with this is, a player builds/designs a small runabout vessel, a few times larger than a drone, he should be able to store it in a hanger assuming the volume of the runabout fits into the remaining volume of a single hanger (not overall hanger volume on parent ship) on the parent ship.

This would allow players with monolithic lumbering ships to have a hanger(s) dedicated to small a runabout(s)/cargo (un)loader(s) to save time while in-sector in acquiring crew, transporting small cargo loads.

The re-spawn pad would go hand in hand with this mechanic.

Cargo Fighters

Much like conventional fighters, Mining Fighters, Salvage fighters etc, A addition fighter variant that can haul very small cargo sizes would be highly beneficial for Very large cargo haulers.

Arguably inefficient, cost and space wise, and likely by default, these cargo fighters would large in fighter size.

However the ability to leave a cargo ship to unload and trade without going super close to a station would be great.

With this one would benefit from docking ports on stations, as the fighters would need to go to an unoccupied dock, each fighter would momentarily occupy a dock

The slow speed of fighters would encourage freighters to get relatively close to a station to save time.

The buzzing activity of fighters going back and forth would add significant life to the rather chaotic universe.

This would also go hand in hand with Player runabouts, a player could leave a freighter to slowly unload overtime while they jump in a runabout and go and collect a few crew of parts nearby.
