Asteriod Mining

How do I get my Nobel Asteriod Mine to mine?  I assume I am missing something simple and search didn't reveal anything.

 

Does it need miners like a ship?  If so how many?  I gave it a captain and some mechanics and engineers.

It needs some cargo bays to store its production. Use Build mode to add them (also, don't forget to add some docking ports).

 

Other than that, nothing is necessary. It can mine even with zero crew (it will slowly destroy itself without mechanics like any other ship, however).

Awesome, thanks. I will try it. It has a docking port, but I did start a platform I can put cargo bays on. I even gave it a captain hoping that will help.

 

EDIT: it starting mining instantly.  I am guessing it doesn't need a Captain? Or does it so it can defend it self. I put a gun on it but will do more if it works.
