FrAvatar Posted April 12, 2017 Share Posted April 12, 2017 How hard would it be to make a mod to tell AI ships, for example: Gun groups 1 and 2 are for attack enemies, Gun group 3 is for mining, gun group 4 is for salvaging gun group 5 is for repairing. That way I wouldn't need to change the turret loadouts every time my ship changes jobs on the fly. Also it would allow me to use miners/salvagers that can defend themselves with their own guns, but not try to use the wrong guns for the job. Right now if I have a ship with a few combat guns as well as mining and salvaging, then he tries to use all the guns regardless of their intended use. Shooting cannons when trying to mine is just a waste. Alternatively, a way to have different weapon loadout presets, swappable with the press of a button. but I'd rather have a static general loadout with an AI that understands how to use weapon groups.
