Game crashing on launch

Avorion refuses to launch for me, when I launch it a black screen pops up for a second then the game crashes back to desktop. I'm running the latest version. The demo I downloaded from the Avorion site runs just fine but not the actual steam version for some reason. Any help would be much appreciated.

Same issue verbatim. I can run the Demo completely fine. It's literally some kind of issue regarding Steam/Avorion as the demo can launch instantly without issue.

There have been a lot of changes between the last demo and the current version. So it is not very surprising that the demo works for you.

 

The only thing I could suggest as a fix are the usual ones:

1. Try updating your graphics card drivers

2. Try to verify the game files using steam (unlikely to fix it imo)

 

If these won't work you will probably have to wait for a new patch from the devs :/

Yah I have updated every driver I could think of, reinstalled the game at least 50-100 times, verified countless times, got a friend to send me his game files to test if something was missing, tried anything and everything I could find within the Steam Forums and Avorion Forums.  Was super excited to play this game but after 3+ hours of messing around I'm really starting to lose interest.

This looks like a crash in some windows binaries (ACCESS VIOLATION within DllMain etc). I don't have a solution for this right now, but my best guess is that the windows update broke some binaries.

I got an almost similar problem. When i logged in on the server i'm playing currently the game crashes. When i logged in on a offline galaxy a new player was created

I fixed that by deleting the settings files client.ini and settings.ini.
