after playing a bit more a few things caught my eye:

 

marked sectors with notes look no different than other sectors, maybe give them a little icon to show that the player has written something about them?

maybe include some kind of notebook with douby linked entries? (from the map to the logbook by giving a list with all entries which contain the coordinate tag of the relevant sector [X:Y], from the logbook to the map by clicking on the coordinate tag in the logbook.)

'would condense all player notes into a single easy to access location instead of being spread around the whole map.

and would also give players an in-game way to make general notes

 

 

there is also no way to find specific types of stations besides manually checking every visited system, maybe some form of selectable filter would be useful?

filters for station types, filters for systems with notes, filters for systems with player assets, filters for systems with stations that buy/sell specific goods etc etc.

Additionally, it would be nice if active quests automatically added a mark to the relevant system (preferably in a different colour that the standard, to make them stand out) and a note (the quest name or something)

I currently do it by hand, but regularly have to think "ok, which of these 20 purplish dots was that distress signal again"

Little icons for which sectors have notes, stations or missions would be nice and easy additions.

Another thing: it would be nice if lines between wormholes didn't fade out that quickly when zooming out, since to find where they're going you have to drag the map while zoomed in over large distances and then zooming out  and in to see where you are, which is a tad tedious.
